AI has no place in Doctor Who or the fandom. Doctor Who has always been about human creativity. Give me bubble wrap monsters. Give me silly cardboard alien designs. It may have its faults, but it’s human art. I am and will always will be against gen AI. It has no place here.

I’m not an RTD2 hater overall, but I do think one of the main issues was the hubristic assumption that they’d get a third series. So colour me surprised that RTD doesn’t think a one-series render is ‘worthwhile

I think they honestly should retcon the Billie Piper cliffhanger with the original ending. I believe it would leave the show in a better place. The next era gets an easier clean slate, & the EU gets to continue 15’s adventures off-screen. Ncuti has even hinted before he’d do BF.

I’m still annoyed about the whole Doctor Who situation. Not that RTD2 didn’t work, but how it was handled: promising a Christmas Special then cancelling it, shoehorning Billie into The Reality War, leaving plot points unanswered, and not releasing The War Between internationally.

Here’s a #DoctorWho photo restoration and colourisation for a nice rehearsal shot from ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’. William Hartnell, Peter Purves and Jean Marsh face the Daleks on the pursuit ship exterior set in TC4 on Friday 26th November 1965, during camera rehearsals for Episode 5, ‘Coronas of the Sun’ I’ve only ever seen this image looking an utter mess. The b&w copy attached here is the best I have in terms of detail, but it’s caked in dirt, dust and scratches, plus the contrast is shot to hell. Other lo-res online copies supplied the extra picture information around the edges. And then I spent my entire life making it look half-decent. (Well it felt like my entire life anyway.)

Nobody's saying they're perfect but the rise in price has coincided with a noticeable boost in resources. At the start of this decade the line was clinging onto life with nought but kitbashing and rereleases and now we're getting completely original sculpts (1/?)

I deeply miss the world before AI existed. I’m so exhausted from side eyeing videos, recoiling at tacky fonts, sepia tinted art, the messy blobs and blips of unmatched colors. It’s slowly sucking all the creative life out of the world while it physically destroys it.

Strictly Come Dancing will be put out to tender by the BBC, next year. Bosses hope production will remain the same, but in the scenario that it moves to a new production company, the show and people working on it should ‘hopefully remain largely unchanged.’
