Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of Americans signed their names to a piece of parchment and made a promise no nation had ever made before: that we're all created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We're the only nation in history built not on ethnicity, or blood, or geography but on an idea. That's always been what makes us exceptional. We chose that path 250 years ago but that’s where the work began, not where it ended. Every generation has had to choose it again. At Valley Forge, at Gettysburg, on the beaches of Normandy, in the streets of Selma. Americans recommitted themselves to the principles on which our nation was founded. Now it's our turn. There's nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it, defend it, and earn it. Over and over, year after year. That's not a burden. That's what it means to be an American. 250 years in, we still haven't fully lived up to those words in the Declaration. But we've never walked away from them, and this July 4, I hope all of us can commit to one thing: that we never will. I don't believe we're as divided as we're told we are. I've bet my whole life on the American people, and I'm not stopping now. Happy 250th birthday, America. Our story isn't finished. Let's keep writing it together.

BREAKING: Donald Trump moves to gut the Endangered Species Act — putting precious animals and plants in danger to supercharge the profits of his corrupt backers. Future generations will inherit a wasteland thanks to these monsters... “Trump’s proposals are a death sentence for wolverines, monarch butterflies, Florida manatees and so many other animals and plants that desperately need our help,” said Stephanie Kurose, deputy director of government affairs at the Center for Biological Diversity. “If these rules had been in place back in the 1970s, the bald eagle, the gray whale might not be around today, and if they go into effect now, they will drive animals extinct, and that means a lonelier world,” Kurose explained. “This isn’t about protecting endangered species. This is about the biggest companies in the country wanting to drill for oil and dig coal, even if it causes wildlife like the polar bear and other iconic species to go extinct,” she added. The White House is arguing that the rules as they currently exist are choking off economic development. Translation: corporations could be making more money if they were allowed to rampage across the environment freely. That "economic development" won't benefit average Americans, who will be forced to bear the ecological costs. It will solely benefit shareholders and CEOs. The changes would slash protections for species that are designated as "threatened," which is one rung below "endangered." Of course, once these companies start drilling, mining, and polluting those species will quickly go from threatened, to endangered, to extinct. On top of that, Trump's new rules would make it even harder to designate species as endangered and harder to protect crucial habitats for such species. One need only glance at Trump's pick for Interior Secretary to see how deep the rot goes here. Doug Burgum is a billionaire with deep connections to the fossil fuel industry so it's no surprise that he's enthusiastically supporting the new rules, praising them as "clear, consistent and lawful standards" that "respect the livelihoods of Americans who depend on our land and resources." In reality, this is about funneling more wealth to corporations. America First always meant Corporations First. Please retweet and ❤️ to demand a halt to these changes!

I am at a loss for words. Trump is fast asleep at an 11am televised meeting, drooped face, incoherent speech, slurred words?????? This is 10x worse than what Biden did at that debate, and he was literally run out of town for it. And we were forced to trade him for this????

BREAKING: Getty Images releases stunning photographs of Donald Trump falling fast asleep during yesterday's Oval Office meeting. Imagine if President Biden had done this? The media narrative for four years was that Biden was too old to do the job and now Trump is literally passing out behind his desk but all we hear is crickets. We still don't know why this man underwent a nonstandard MRI scan last month and every time he opens his mouth the cognitive decline becomes more apparent. When is enough enough? Trump must resign immediately! Please retweet and ❤️ if you think that Trump is unfit for office!

The entire East Wing of the White House will be gone by Friday. He does not have the authority to do this. Yet he’s doing it. It’s not his house. It’s ours. Is there not ONE Republican out there who will say something? Not ONE? Is there not ONE Republican willing to risk taking a blowtorch to their career by standing up in the public square and shouting, “STOP! STOP DESTROYING THIS HOUSE! THIS IS WRONG! STOP!” Is there not ONE Republican who’ll show a modicum of courage? Not ONE?

My observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence & calling for calm while MAGA are escalating rhetoric & lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

So Republicans think that someone forged Trump’s signature on a letter 22 years ago before Epstein was ever accused, gave it to Ghislaine Maxwell who put it in a book 14 years before Trump ran for President? For what? Why?

it should probably be a bigger story that most of the world has stopped shipping packages to the U.S. entirely because of Trump’s tariffs
