Thames Water's prospectus, basically a loan application form, is staggeringly revealing. Would you lend £15,000,000,000 to a company that is already £21,703,500,000 in debt?

One photo shows a single, solitary ancient sycamore tree destroyed in an act of eco vandalism that has rightly caused outrage. The other photo shows one of 108 ancient, native woodlands destroyed to make way for HS2. Can we get as angry about this too?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
HS2 has impacted 15% of 25 ancient woodlands, not destroyed 108. There are approximately 53,000 ancient woodlands sites in England; any major infrastructure project is going to impact some of them. hs2.org.uk/building-hs2/e…

BREAKING - #Rosebank oilfield just given go-ahead - the greatest act of environmental vandalism in my lifetime, causing emissions equal to 28 lowest income countries, busting #climate targets & doing nothing for energy security since vast majority is for export #climatecriminals

the only thing that scares me more than the relentless floods and fires we see through our phones that eventually will come to all of us, is the total lack of response from everyone else as the world collapses in front of their eyes

There’s barely time to pause for breath now between one Tory catastrophe and the next. Crumbling schools, escaped prisoners, and now this completely preventable disaster for clean energy. Are they even trying to govern? #GeneralElectionNow

The Government has issued 100 new oil and gas licenses, sending a wrecking ball through our climate targets. The Green Party is the only part that can provide bold climate leadership. Are you with us?

Week 256. We are currently shattering heat records all over the world. Last week we experienced the hottest days ever recorded, many days in a row. We are also experiencing record high sea level temperatures and record low ice levels. This is an emergency. #FridaysForFuture

Blatant & wilful misrepresentation from Oliver Dowden. Any new North Sea oil & gas will be sold on international market at global prices. New climate-wrecking fossil fuels won't cut bills, won't help energy security, certainly won't cut emissions - and he knows it. #DPMQs

Another market on the brink of collapse. Another example of shareholders walking away with billions. Another example of a regulator asleep at the wheel. Another example of taxpayers being asked to pick up the pieces. But not even an apology?
