LTCG will make a difference of 1/8th on the returns. If this makes someone think twice about investing, cannot be great returns. Not that I support LTCG. If you had 20 percent returns, LTCG would still give you 17 percent plus. So, when returns are poor, LTCG is an excuse .

Two things can be possible at the same time:
"There is fundamentally less belief we have decades of strong growth ahead of us" and "I remain convinced that all this data is a contrarian indicator and not a reason to turn more negative on India."
Akash Prakash is a neutral commentator.
When he explains why FIIs have lost interest in India, it is worth listening.
FIIs are now much less convinced about India’s growth story.
Unless the Finance Ministry makes substantial structural changes in capital markets, including taxation, there is no clear trigger right now to attract foreign capital.

One can even buy 2-3 multi asset funds to further diversify and reduce fund manager risk. The aim here is low downside risk and decent return.
Aim is mental peace and beating inflation by 3% points without high volatility
Satisfaction Yes, Optimization No
Good luck choosing a multi-asset fund.
You're choosing an asset allocator, not just an equity stock picker. How much goes into gold, silver, equity and debt, and when those allocations change, can make a big difference.
Equity, gold and silver can all be volatile. Putting them in one fund doesn't automatically make it low-risk. Diversification helps, but the weights still matter.
Personally, I'd consider this category for a goal 5-7 years away, with a return expectation somewhere between the 10-year G-sec yield and 11%. That's my expectation, not an assured range or a floor on returns.
The last two years make the allocation question especially interesting: who held gold and silver, how much did they hold, and when did they increase or reduce exposure?
My takeaway so far: don't choose this category only by recent returns. Understand the allocation approach and the risks you're actually buying.
My research on this concept is WIP.. the allocation to an asset class is so widely different amongst funds.

Our main pillar is service exports and white collar
This drives loan based consumption. Once fear settles in the mind, loans reduce and so does consumption

Microsoft is laying off 60,000 employees, 27% of its workforce across the world. This includes India as well.
The term used is Voluntary Exit Offers (VEOs).
Mails are already out to these employees.
They are offered some separation benefits and asked to leave.
Usually what happens in the industry is that if they don’t accept the voluntary exit offer, they are subsequently laid off. When you get laid off, separation benefits are not provided.
Though called voluntary, in all likelihood these 60,000 people would have no option but to leave the company.
At least from now on, the Finance Minister should consider not taxing severance benefits.
Suddenly overnight, a huge number of employees in one of the world’s largest companies are facing an uncertain future.
Already Oracle, including their Indian operations, has laid off a huge number of people.
The trend is expected to follow.
At least now you would understand why I’ve been saying for the last couple of years to create safe money worth 3 years of living expenses and not to go for any loans, including buying a house.
The impact of IT professionals losing jobs would start showing on premium consumption, real estate prices and reduced demand across the economy.
As I said, things would become worse before they become better.
Newer industries and opportunities would come in the future. But the transition period is going to be painful.

$MSFT offers 60,000 employees a voluntary exit.
60K Y’all!!
First time this has ever been offered at Microsoft and it will affect employees in India, The United States, Canada, and the UK at level 70 or below…
Employees find out in a few hours if they are being targeted for this.
This just makes me think that H127 layoffs sound intense. Is this a pre-layoff round?
Also makes me wonder if they changed some scheduled layoffs due to be called out by @VP. Peace offering? 🤔 Timing is just interesting.
More to come.
$MSFT Microsoft's job cuts aren't done, and Xbox is where to watch next.
Asha Sharma is reportedly planning three more rounds: this month, November and January. 1,868 jobs are gone against a 3,200 target, so roughly 1,300 more are coming.
Spreading cuts across a whole year is a choice. It keeps the margin story moving and leaves everyone who's left waiting. I'm watching for the October round.
Retail investors and traders have every right to complain about the system and its policies when markets underperform.
Fund managers do not. They don’t get to hide their abysmal performance behind the same excuses. They are paid massive fees precisely so they don’t have to cry about it. Their job is to deliver. Period.
Of late, the fund managers most vocal in their criticism are the very ones who had no clue what was coming. Yet they charged fees, encouraged people to invest, and are now covering up their performance by passing the buck to the system.
Hypocrites.

Everyone says - Mutual Funds Sahi Hai, don’t stop SIP. But SIPs started ~2 years ago have gone nowhere. The core problem with most equity funds is structural. Managers are forced to stay heavily invested in equities due to SEBI’s minimum allocation rules, even when markets are weak.
A fund that can fully switch between equity and debt as conditions change would be useful. Just hope the performance is judged properly, not just against equity alpha.
Really don't know instead of accepting this, fund managers are getting vocal and confuse the investors.

India's equity valuations are at their lowest levels in six years following the recent market decline sparked by a slew of factors, including foreign selling, a weaker rupee, higher crude prices and rising US bond yields. But that may not be reason enough for overseas investors to reverse their pessimistic view, as stocks here, despite coming off their highs, remain more expensive than their emerging market (EM) peers.
