You don’t fully grasp how much of your life is tracked until you’re sitting in a courtroom, watching federal prosecutors use your digital history against you, down to your most harmless Google searches. Your entire life becomes an open book, and even your most innocent actions can be twisted into something sinister. They get to tell the most damning version of your story. To tell yours in your own words, you have to take the stand.

The cop should be fired and this man should be paid restitution. The prosecutor should also loose their job. 2 years is far more then enough time to realize you fucked up. Also, what happened to the right to a speedy trial? There is zero justification for threatening someone with deadly force in this situation. He could have calmly walked up and handed him a ticket, not that he actually deserved one.
Tesla helped save a man from jail. Kevin Finley was arrested at gunpoint for allegedly fleeing police. His Tesla captured the key moments, showing why he never saw the unmarked police car. Nearly two years later, the judge watched the video and found him not guilty.

A malicious user has likely gained access to Swiss Bitcoin Pay’s internal systems. As a precaution, we are temporarily shutting down our servers while we investigate and secure our infrastructure. At this stage, we believe they may have accessed customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses and IBANs, transaction history, and hashed passwords. It is not yet clear whether any other information was accessed. User funds are safe, and any amounts owed to users will be fully returned. We do not have a reopening date yet, but we are working as quickly as possible to secure everything properly. We’ll be back stronger!

The recommendations column in fedimint observer is useless. I just spammed thousands of nostr events and changed this federation's rating from 4.7 to 1.3. Cc: @fedimint @EricSirion

KYC is criminal Continual endangerment of innocent people who have done nothing wrong.
‼️ BREAKING: Revolut handed over customers’ passport copies, verification selfies and full transaction histories to a malicious actor. The actor sent lawful government information-demand emails using a genuine government domain that passed domain authentication. Revolut later concluded they were not authentic. Affected customers were notified on Friday. What may have been disclosed ranges from name, date of birth and home address to account statements, withdrawal records and complete Bitcoin transaction history. The company says it has alerted the agency to the unauthorised mailbox on its domain, blocked the address and begun notifying regulators. It has not named the agency, explained how someone obtained a mailbox there, or given a number of affected customers. ZachXBT, who circulated the notices, believes the incident was limited in size and aimed at high-net-worth users.

Absolutely insane. Revolut just handed everyone's documents and sensitive info to literal criminals. Because they asked nicely. KYC and identity requirements are criminal.

Our third-party e-mail provider has been breached. Please be aware that the email named ‘Critical Security Alert: STM32 Entropy Vulnerability’ is not coming from us, and it’s a phishing attempt. Do not click on any link. We have taken down the domain, and we are investigating the situation, including how the hackers got access to our legit domain.

Hilarious. Bro @sacha_io flexing he sold his company @Mobulaio for 8 figs (17 mil) to @fomo. Doesn't honor a €4000 hackathon to @CryptoCanal leaving them to cover the bounties. I post a simple post below and he straight out blocks me. Should be "how i avoid responsibility and accountability at 19".
Is this why @Mobulaio is not honoring their hackathon bounty to @CryptoCanal?

honestly, i keep thinking about this result and it's just absurd. in the 2022 PISA, el salvador scored 343 in math, 365 in reading, and 373 in science near the bottom of PISA, close to guatemala and dominican republic now the country has developed a program for education modernization in a pilot group of public schools with 1:1 AI tutoring and personalized learning after the pilot had been running for BARELY OVER A YEAR, students got results comparable to germany and sweden. that's more than an entire standard deviation that is fucking insane we should be talking about absolutely nothing else if you actually care about poor children and equality of opportunity, the possibility of giving every child on earth an individualized tutor for a fraction of the cost of human 1:1 tutoring should be one of the most exciting developments in human history. "it's all in the environment tards" should be drooling at the news every government on earth should be running massive randomized trials of this right now, and if the effect survives, scaling it as fast as physically and humanly possible for every child on earth the funniest part is that while the supposed "fascists" are celebrating poor kids learning, the people supposedly obsessed with inequality are barely talking about it, and if anything are banning AI in schools revealed priorities are funny like that
“Results in reading, mathematics and science were above the national average and comparable to the average results in Germany and Sweden.” These are the results of our pilot program, which includes AI tutors and has been running in 171 public schools for just over a year. It was evaluated by PISA for Schools in June of this year. Since then, it has already expanded to more than 1,000 schools, and within 18 months, it will be in every public school in our country. In a few years, El Salvador will inspire the world. Security was just the beginning 🇸🇻

Yikes. So the confidential-transactions maths/implementation got broken, not the federation logic or signing keys.

It appears that the hackers created a valid 6-input confidential @Liquid_BTC transaction that registered as a valid 3,998 bitcoin peg-out transaction, which the HSM functionaries then signed as a valid move of bitcoin onto the chain. The hackers have stated they are whitehats

Sell someone an e-bike? No crime has been committed, and no person has been hurt. There is no victim from that action. Making it illegal *creates* the victims: the retailer who has a right to sell a good and earn money, and the consumer who has a right to buy the device and use it. Neither of them has committed any crime, yet are now victimized under the coercion of state. If you hit/hurt someone whether on an e-bike, or a car, or any other device, that is already illegal. If the state was ethical and effective, it would prosecute such crimes. Since it is neither ethical nor effective, it invents new crimes where no victim exists and punishes people for those.
Too many lives have been cut short by high-speed, illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. That’s why we are issuing cease-and-desist orders against 42 online retailers that have been selling these dangerous devices to New York City residents — including Target, Temu, Wayfair, Walmart, and Amazon.  The safety of New Yorkers is not for sale.
