Today, Firefox 94 launched with some fun art to introduce the new themes. @designerham and I painted actual watercolors for this project 🥰
My friend @grafera showed me how to use channels to make the paintings work on both light and dark. UX was a team effort led by @caseyr28.

When reviewing design work, curiosity before critique is a good principle to follow. First, ask questions to make sure you fully understand the solution. Then ask why the team decided as they did. Only jump in with concerns after doing both.

Lots of teams in the product space are switching to a Content Design job title. Love how @merideldorothy and @BetsyM from the @FirefoxUX team describe the benefits in this piece: medium.com/firefox-ux/were-c…

ALT Content design is thus a clearer descriptor for a broader audience. When we collaborate cross-functionally (with product managers, engineers, marketing), it’s important they understand what to expect from our contributions, and how and when to engage us in the process. We often get asked: “When is the right time to bring in content? And the answer is: “The same time you’d bring in a designer.”

Replying to @GemmaPetrie
@GemmaPetrie & @jovialresearch gave a great presentation on a mixed-method study at Mozilla - trying to understand beyond the telemetry & quant data alone, to get at real value people see in a browser, which is somewhat domesticated to a point of near invisibility. #EPIConference

I've always enjoyed creating stickers and swag for my teams. It's really about the process of creating something together, that represents the collective. Time to revisit a few of my favourites from the last 8 years @FirefoxUX! All internal, never-for-sale,🧵

As part of the effort to ensure Firefox’s sustainability, it was determined that DevTools UX work can afford to be paused.
I hope the community feels like it’s in a good place, for now. I’ll still be helping out a bit, and I'll do some writing about the ideas I hope to revisit.

Weird feeling seeing @FennecNightly begin to sunset today. It was the first meaningful project I ever led for @firefox (back in 2013) and it taught me so so so much. Thank you to everyone who contributed along the way and given me valuable nuggets of wisdom ❤️🦊!

Our conversation with the @FirefoxUX book club was very good. We talked about the book, but the group also discussed important, related topics, like the role words play in perpetuating anti-Black racism and how language is used to codify inequality.
The @FirefoxUX book club comes together a few times a year to discuss books related to the #UX practice. They recently welcomed authors @mjmetts and @awelfle to discuss their book - Writing is Designing: Words and the User Experience. 📚 blog.mozilla.org/ux/2020/07/…
