Earlier today, I spoke at an event hosted by MP @GordJohns reiterating my support for #BillC216 to address the opioid crisis. I was disappointed to see the bill not pass into committee, but proud to be one of the 71 MPs supporting it. I will continue to advocate for this issue.

This small step comes nowhere close to what our country needs, which is country wide comprehensive health-based approach to address this public health emergency. @JustinTrudeau you owe it to Canadians to support #BillC216 and send it to committee.

Our human compassion binds us one to the other – not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.” –Nelson Mandela #Momsonamission on route to Ottawa to show our support for #BillC216. #MSTH

The overdose crisis is getting worse everyday. Today staff at the Moss Park Injection Site reversed 14 overdoses. We are seriously concerned with the increase in overdoses and deaths. Government inaction at all levels are to blame.

Canada is dealing with unprecedented numbers of people dying of opioid overdoses. While the numbers are new - the problem is not. @garthmullins has spent his entire adult life taking opioids, and has seen first hand how Canada's drug problem has evolved. bit.ly/2GXxwqb
