California’s construction unions are running ads against their own jobs

I sure hope @Michele_Tafoya wins her Senate bid in Minnesota. Just so I could stop getting spammed by her two or three times a day asking me to donate money.
LAUSD’s Insane Priorities: Lavish Union Deals, Fewer School Cops And Bullies Running Wild
If you are having a great day, you may want to avoid reading this. The Los Angeles Unified School District is totally jacked up, and wait until you read just how bad it is…

For some time I've had Claude analyzing CA legacy media for bias in covering illegal immigration. The @sacbee_news (actually @mcclatchy) is the most biased in terms of what they cover and how they frame it. Claude recently moved them from a 7 to an 8, 1 being no bias.

A year from now, California's (at least) $1.2 Billion office building for state lawmakers and the governor is expected to be finished.
We asked for a tour of the construction to look ahead but got denied.
So, we looked back at how we got here:

🚨SCOOP:
FPPC complaint filed against Democrat CA Senate Candidate & sitting West Hollywood City Councilman John Erickson for violating the Levine Act (Cal. Gov. Code sect. 84308)
➡️Detailed 7-page complaint alleges Erickson accepted 6 contributions from 3 different parties with business before the City Council, totaling $16,300
➡️Erickson allegedly recused himself from proceedings involving these parties on some occasions, but still accepted the money after the votes, which the complaint alleges means he was aware of the conflict & illegality of accepting the contributions but never returned them
➡️The complaint identifies the proceedings and parties involved are a solid waste franchise, a billboard entitlement involving a lobbyist, and a social services contract
Awaiting response from the FPPC

Voting Karen Bass is morally unacceptable. She has been a complete disaster. There must be accountability. You cannot reward her with your vote.
Yes, Nithya Raman is a DSA extremist. But she would be no worse than Bass. Do not vote for either.
Los Angeles: I am your only hope.
It’s worth pointing out the betting odds are a far cry from actual odds. The most disturbing trend that I’m seeing lately. Are these online betting companies sponsoring people to cover the news or news? Corporations are independent people that cover the news. It’s like a cancer.
Replying to @cmarinucci
This is the cycle. I could tell you after Obama was in office for six years I had had enough. He’s the worst president. I can thing of in my lifetime. I think my point is that it’s all relative.
The biggest problem is this quick, solid climate change agenda. It’s extreme and it’s expensive and now it has created the climate industrial complex vast networks of nonprofits and others that are living off of the high fees and taxes being paid in the name of saving the planet, even though California’s contribution to planet wide human created carbon emissions is roughly around 1/2 of 1%.
There are a dozen or so #caleg public policy choices that may have made sense in isolation, but don't make sense in the aggregate that cause CA electricity prices to be sky high.
Fixing it would make a meaningful difference for millions of people.
Is L.A. mayoral candidate Nithya Raman a capitalist?
"I'm a capitalist and I'm also a Democratic Socialist...we need to make sure capitalism works without harm to workers... to poor people."
She says the DSA is a "big tent" but she disagrees with members who call to abolish police, prisons and the Senate.

Karen Bass Needs the Voters Who Hate Her Most
Looking into the crosstabs of a new survey commission by the California Post, it would appear that for Mayor bass to be re-elected, she would need conservatives to vote for her…
My latest in the @californiapost for @capostopinion. Whither the @spencerpratt voters…

For the record, I hate everyone who makes a donation to any political candidate or committee in response to a text message. YOU are the problem. As long as you give, we will all be incessantly plagued by more and more of them. Don't be that person. Don't be hated. Don't give! Thanks.
California State Workers Strike For 21% Raises While Private Employers Budget Just 3.5%
@SEIU1000 wants a 21% raise while private-sector workers face layoffs, smaller raises, and rising prices. The state is already running deficits. Guess who gets the bill?

Oh my! @KarenBassLA is toast. Worst mayor ever opens the door wide open for “DSA darling” @nithyavraman. New survey released by the @californiapost shows Bass is loathed. For good reason of course.
NEW @californiapost poll: @nithyavraman leads @MayorOfLA @KarenBassLA, 46.7% to 38.8%. Reason: 71.7% disapprove of Bass, 66.2% say city is heading in wrong direction. 41% say Raman is “extreme.” Doesn’t matter. Homelessness #1 issue, and voters blame Bass. nypost.com/2026/10/22/us-new…

Memo to the Trump administration: Stop buying companies.
A government $40 trillion in debt should be SELLING assets, not buying ownership stakes in 36 companies.
We thought government control of the means of production was what we were fighting against.
