The very best of Luck Hugh as you head for the paid ranks. 🏌🏻‍♂️⛳️
Hugh Foley off to the pro ranks A lot of success on the course as an amateur, multiple wins on the Irish amateur circuit. Irish close 🏆 West of Ireland 🏆 North of Ireland 🏆 South of Ireland 🏆 Hugh has represented Ireland for a number of years with great success, something he has been very passionate about, winning as a team is rare in golf and doing it for Ireland at home internationals & euro nations are weeks he has great memories from. Hugh 💭A new challenge awaits it’s been something that has been a goal for a long time and I’ve dedicated myself to over the last few years, I’ve seen the ups & downs of golf and feel now is the time to push myself for the next chapter. Check out the latest episode of the Irish Am podcast as I chat with Hugh about his decision. One last event this week as an amateur at the concession cup nice way to cap it all off. Best of luck with the new challenge ahead 👊☘️

Massive congratulations to Jessie Walsh on her selection for this season's Cork Schoolgirls Gaynor Cup squad. The Gaynor Cup is the premier girls national underage competition so it’s a fantastic achievement to be selected.

Today brings not just sadness but an overwhelming anger upon learning about the passing of Dr. Martin Feeley, who paid the price for daring to critique Ireland's Covid response. His public opposition to lockdowns from within the HSE cost him his job, a grim testament to the stifling of dissent and anybody who dared suggest NPHET and the government were getting it wrong. Martin, a vocal advocate like many of us, has now been vindicated by the knowledge we now have and numerous published papers on lockdowns and their usefulness show they made little or no difference. Those within the HSE culpable for coercing Martin's resignation due to his qualified Covid opinion should hang their heads in shame and feel so guilty on his passing. A seasoned vascular surgeon with a wealth of experience, Martin held the prestigious diploma of Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and served as the clinical director at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital. His devotion to his patients was unwavering, yet his final years were tarnished by the state and those audacious enough to challenge his seasoned and professional insights into our handling of the Covid crisis. Martin passionately argued that our efforts were misdirected, focusing on protecting those not truly at risk from severe consequences of Covid while neglecting the higher-risk elderly population. He emphatically stated that, for individuals under 70, Covid was no more formidable than the flu. "I started looking at the risk-benefit of the whole exercise, and to me, it didn't weigh up at all. Therefore, I considered the measures draconian," he declared. Martin deserves admiration as a professional who spoke out when others in his field opted for silence, perhaps out of fear of disrupting the prevailing narrative. Those responsible for his forced resignation from the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group must publicly apologise for besmirching his reputation in the years leading up to his untimely passing. In an interview i conducted just a few months ago, Martin's unwavering commitment to truth and transparency shines through. Rest in peace, Dr. Martin Feeley, your legacy of courage and conviction will endure. Rest In Peace Martin Listen to the Interview here: niallboylan.com/podcast/iall…

The @LahinchGolfClub has hosted the South of Ireland since 1895, the Irish Open in 2019 (@JonRahmpga🏆), the Palmer Cup in 2024 and the @WalkerCup in 2026, but tonight, on a random and blustery Wednesday at 6pm, they had 52 boys and girls, plus Áine Donegan, competing in a match play putting competition. Love everything about this course, club, culture and vibe. Lots more coming on Lahinch and Áine, who’s as fresh as that breeze coming off the Atlantic.🇮🇪 – at Clare, Ireland

Hurling is pure sport. Real athletes playing for their home town/counties, for the love of the game and each other. No frills or flopping, full contact, full on for at least 70 minutes, all for amateur compensation. A rather respectful 84,000 packed Croke Park on a drizzly Sunday Irish afternoon to watch an incredible display of heart, determination and teamwork. Poor Kilkenny, they had a good first half and as much as a six-point lead. This Limerick point in the 36th minute seemed to flip the script. Limerick flexed in the second half with 21 points, overpowering and obliterating the Cats en route to their fourth straight and fifth Liam MacCarthy Cup in six years.🏆 Limerick 0-30 (30), Kilkenny 2-15 (21). Thanks to @JoeyCan88 and @BordGaisEnergy for the access, analysis and hospitality. 🇮🇪
