It's worth remembering that in 2014 Leland Yee dropped from the CA SoS race after being arrested for trafficking missiles, among other things. He still got 380,361 votes.
Will @Ericswalwell exceed that number? Call it the Yeeline™

Dave: “So you purchased a $1M home using a conventional mortgage with 30k?”
Mark: “Yes.”
Dave: “Where did you get the other 17%?”
Mark: “The State loaned it to me.”
Dave: “So, now you have 2 mortgages and owe 970,000 on a 30k purchase?”
Mark: “Yes, that’s correct Dave.”

Trump ran on draining the swamp. Instead, a whole new group of swamp dwellers has brought a new level of corruption to Washington.
Republicans need an honest postmortem on the allegations of people monetizing access to the president.

The Sacramento Bee asked for my thought on the election yesterday.
"A party that will not learn from voters gets taught by them. Republicans have now been taken to school by voters twice in eight years. The lesson is painful. Let’s not do this again. Let’s stop being crazy."

In other news, the nominal US trade deficit (goods & services) remained at near-record levels, while the inflation-adjusted merchandise-trade deficit was the largest since March 2025 (then caused by pre-tariff stockpiling). bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Yes. It was his boring stability and conservative respect for norms that hurt Trump. If only he rocked the boat more, he’d be super popular. And Trump isn’t to blame, his domineering Chief of Staff whose iron willed imposition of stability at all costs is the author of this Republican woe.
This is the sanest, most grounded in fact and reality, and flat out bravest take ever.
Fine, I’ll say it.
Susie and everyone else who advised Trump to listen to the people afraid to rock the boat need to go.
Time for a complete White House shakeup, starting with PPO. @SergioGor brought in way too many staffers and not enough hitters who DGAF..

On prices, it’s not just that Trump failed to deliver on his 2024 promise to bring them down, he pursued policies (tariffs, Iran war) that served to increase them across the board.
This was the equivalent of, say, pledging to close down the border and then doing multiple things to make the border more porous.
Then, he either denied his policies were having this effect, promised miraculous relief at some point TBD, or said he didn’t care. And this was the issue that has the most direct impact on people’s everyday lives.
So, the scale of the rebuke is stunning, but that there was a rebuke is not surprising—it’d be hard to do more to elicit just such reaction.

The biggest lesson is that when Republicans stay close to our policies of economic freedom, lower taxes, and smaller government, we win. We need to return to that, stop the distractions, and get back to work for the American people.

The American constitutional system worked as designed and worked so well and so thoroughly that the party that lied to itself in 2020 that it had lost only because the election was stolen is now lying to itself that it lost only because of gas prices and war.

Republicans are right in many cases to cast Democrats as socialists. Many DSA candidates will wash ashore in this blue wave
The problem - President Trump’s administration just took its 41st stake in a private company. Harder to make that contrast
