During World War II, a German church stood near a set of railroad tracks.
Every Sunday morning, the congregation gathered to worship. But as they sang, a horrifying sound began to echo from outside. Trains packed with Jewish men, women, and children were rolling past on their way to concentration camps.
From inside the cattle cars, the prisoners cried out for water and screamed for mercy.
The church members could hear them clearly.
Instead of stopping the service to help, the church leadership gave a chilling command:
"Sing a little louder." They raised their voices and played the organ harder, using their hymns to drown out the cries of the suffering until the train passed.
This story, recorded by author Penny Lea, is a devastating critique of what happens when religious ritual replaces actual righteousness.
It is a modern echo of the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). When Jesus defined what it truly means to "love thy neighbor," He explicitly exposed how religious leadership often acts. Both the priest and the Levite,consumed by their religious duties and maintaining their comfort,walked right past the bleeding, dying man on the side of the road. They went on with their business, ignoring the one who needed help. Instead the least expected to help did, therefore fulfilling God’s command. So who loved thy neighbor and who fulfilled the Torah ?
Like those religious leaders, this Christian church at the tracks chose ritual over love and rescue.
But the Scriptures are clear that true faith requires action:
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." — Proverbs 31:8
“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" — 1 John 3:17
“I hate, I despise your religious festivals... Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!" — Amos 5:21, 23-24
Jesus didn't call his followers to drown out the suffering of the world with beautiful music;
He called them to cross the road, touch the broken, and defend the helpless.
Silence in the face of evil is complicity. May we never be a people who simply sing a little louder.

This evening, I sent an urgent and unprecedented letter to the Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Justice Noam Sohlberg, demanding that he immediately halt the announcement and certification of the election results until the conclusion of the Shabak investigation.
We will not accept a fait accompli while an assault on Israeli sovereignty is being investigated, and we will not move on from 1,183 documented complaints of violence, forgeries, and the outrageous directive by the Director General to "prevent congestion," which gutted the voter-identification protocols.
If the suspicions are confirmed, we will not settle for disqualifying this or that polling station: we must cancel the elections entirely and go to snap elections under the strict and full supervision of the Magav and the Israel Police.
Israel’s next Knesset will not be convened under a cloud of illegitimacy.

On the eve of the elections, a senior figure from the Joint List, Ahmed Tibi, was interviewed on Qatari soil for the enemy network "Al Jazeera."
The day after the elections (last night), Tibi was interviewed—apparently from his office in the Israeli Knesset—for the Hezbollah-affiliated enemy channel "Al Mayadeen."
Al Mayadeen reported that he was being interviewed from "occupied Jerusalem."
Israel has banned the broadcasts of both Al Jazeera and Al Mayadeen in its territory due to circumstances involving harm to state security.

The video shows an Arab voter recording himself behind the curtain as he pulls out and crumples voting slips for right-wing parties - and then tosses them into the trash bin outside the polling station.
In the background of the video, the well-known speech of "my Member of Parliament ", Ahmed Tibi who went to Qatar 2 days before the elections: "We are the landlords, standing here, remaining here forever -(and you Jews) to the dustbin of history!"

חזרתי מניו יורק כדי להצביע בבית, ועל הבית.
זו לא תמונה מהקלפי, אלא כמה דקות אחרי ההצבעה, בשדרות. העיר שבה גדלתי, שעיצבה את מי שאני, לטוב ולרע, ושאיתה אני מנהל יחסי אהבה מורכבים, אולי דווקא משום שהשתנתה כל כך עם השנים. שדרות היא בית.
העיר הזו, וחבל הארץ האהוב עליי שבו היא נטועה, ידעו לאורך השנים יותר מדי דם ותמרות עשן, אבל גם לא מעט תקווה. בשבעה באוקטובר הם ידעו את הנורא מכול.
הוריי ואחיותיי ניצלו מהטבח. גיסי עמרי נחטף מביתו לעיני אשתו ובנותיו, ורק כעבור 738 ימים שב אלינו. למדתי בבית הספר שער הנגב, ואני מכיר חברים ללימודים ומורים שחייהם השתנו ללא הכר באותו יום. חלקם כבר אינם איתנו. שלוש מתוך שש שנות שירותי הצבאי העברתי כאן, על גבול הרצועה, בבסיס שנפל לידי מחבלים למשך כמה שעות.
את מה שקרה כאן באותו יום, את כל מה שבא אחריו, וגם את סימני האזהרה שליוו את ילדותי ונעוריי בצל פיגועים ורקטות, אשא איתי תמיד.
