Ever wondered what a truly decentralized internet would look like? Meet Freenet. 🌐 Freenet is a mature peer-to-peer network that lets you run apps (messaging, file sharing, collaboration, etc.) without any central servers — completely resistant to censorship and shutdowns. 🔹Your computer becomes part of the network 🔹Fully encrypted and distributed storage & communication 🔹No Big Tech, no tracking, no single point of failure 🔹Built for freedom and resilience In a world where governments and corporations are tightening control over the internet, projects like Freenet are more relevant than ever. 🔗 Official site: freenet.org/ What do you think? 🔹Had you heard of Freenet before? 🔹Would you run a node to help build a freer internet? 🔹Which decentralized project do you trust the most (Freenet, Tor, I2P, Nostr…)? Drop your thoughts below and tag a friend who cares about digital freedom 👇 #Freenet #Decentralization #Privacy #DigitalSovereignty #DeGoogle #FreeInternet

You can now try Freenet directly in your browser, no install required. If you decide to run it yourself later, you can install Freenet and move your private data off our server with a single click: freenet.org/try/

The UK’s likely next Prime Minister wants VPN restrictions, putting Britain in the same category as Russia, Iran and China. Europe is not going in a good direction. Fortunately @FreenetOrg will be much harder to ban than a conventional VPN because it’s decentralized. No provider, no servers, no chokepoint. birminghammail.co.uk/news/mi…
