Y’all are not hating this man hard enough if you are still giving him nights in your theaters and pages on your websites.

"Too busy analysing to enjoy" is so funny because if I'm analysing a film that is a sign that it is drawing in my attention and working on me

Ellie Lucas, writing for From the Front Row, described The Odyssey as the story of a broken man trying to lead his men home from a pointless war, and wrote about vanity, atonement, family and the chance for a new generation to succeed where the previous one failed. @FrontRowEllie

when you actually list it out it becomes really clear that most of the time Ebert was "wrong" about a great movie it's because he was really sensitive about the depiction of rape, which I can't really get huffy over.
Roger Ebert's zero stars review of The Devils rogerebert.com/reviews/the-d… Roger also gave zero stars to: Texas Chainsaw I Spit On Your Grave The Hitcher Police Academy Death Wish 2 Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me he gave 1 star to Blue Velvet & The Thing & half a star to Hellraiser

One more thing on Clayface: I have worked at Deadline, THR, the Associated Press, and People Magazine to name several….not a single one of them views embargoes the way the people bashing this critic/defending WB do. An embargo requires you to agree. Explicitly.

I think it’s ambiguous but the idea that the play does not hurt him or his family in any way and allows him to profit so he can put it all into his surveillance network is really what’s salient
Still think the idea that Kenny is actively "shaping the narrative" of the story of Fossil Fools is a huge misread of the situation. From what we see, the person doing that is Hannah (the director), changing lines even just before the first preview, which curtis takes issue with.

all of this really makes me feel so many emotions but mostly fucking rage. i just cant begin to describe how upset most women feel reading all of this. it makes me feel so sick and just devastated for jane doe and any other jane doe, myself included.
NBC News has gathered more info and a timeline on the Cornell 7 and Jane Doe, some of which is new. * Jane Doe's car was broken into, and her wallet stolen earlier that day. She was supposed to be a “sober monitor” for her sorority party, but was late because of the burglary, so the sorority assigned someone else. Earlier reports had blamed her drinking for why she wasn't the monitor. She did do shots, as she was not on duty. * she arrived at Chi Phi at 10:30 pm. A guy she was interested in proposed a threesome and she accepted. At this point she had taken ketamine, smoked marijuana and consumed more liquor. * at 1:42 a.m., one of the two men from the initial sexual encounter messaged in the Chi Phi Snapchat group, that there was “free p---y” upstairs. More men started to enter the room. Jane Doe described feeling “super isolated” and like she “didn’t matter as a person to these men." Doe said to one of the initial men, “I don’t know who any of these people are.” * later, one man who lived in the room went into the room with another man and said “something like ‘Ok we’re shutting down whatever the f— this is,’” after which “the group of men all began to scatter..” * then, two of the men ushered Doe upstairs to what she believed was the fraternity president’s office. She said the two men “were asking me to have sex so many times that I finally gave in.” “To me, that felt like coercion,” she told police. “Also, I felt like due to my intoxication, they should have known how intoxicated I was based on how I was slurring my words.” This continued until 5:45 a.m. * she woke up in the room of the guy she had originally come to see, and found him hovering over her, saying he wanted her to give him oral sex. She refused him and he moved away from her. +======= So much culpability to go around. So many guys knew and could have stopped it. This case is going to be a lot more wide ranging than we originally knew. Let's see how many of these rats, rat each other out to save themselves!

People take all the Digger Rockwell scenes at face value, and treat all the behind the scenes of the play scenes as commercial breaks that can be ignored.

I also like how the movie intimates how the “then as farce, then as farce, then as farce” attitude of our moment feels like cope. in the best scene in the movie, Cruise is basically pleading “no no! this man was EVIL!”

To me, Digger is pretty clearly a self critical, introspective work that everyone is reading as accusatory

Inarritu made a VR art piece for Cannes a few years back where you’re put in the POV of an illegal immigrant crossing the border. Inarritu *is* the person you claim the movie’s critiquing

The shot in Obsession of Sarah’s dead body in the house is the image that’s lingered with me from that movie the most because of how misogynistic and mean-spirited it is. Basically every time I think about that movie I like it less

Men are doxxing the wrong women because they're so hungry to terrorize a rape victim into further tragedy, they don't care if they violate & destroy other women. They just want to join in men's sexual violence like the 8th in line to a gang rape, any woman will do.

She’s Jane Doe, I’m Jane Doe, every woman you come into contact with is Jane Doe. It doesn’t matter who you try to expose or dox. It affects us all and it always has. My name is Jane Doe and I’ve been hurt in countless ways by men. She’s Jane Doe, I’m Jane Doe.
