Rush-hour merges, tight exits, and fast-moving traffic put Tesla’s self-driving to the test. It made the route—but hesitation and slow speeds showed where it could improve. Safety first; smooth ride overall.

Tuesday rush hour in Austin. Same trip, two apps: Cybercab: 2 minutes away. UberX: 10 minutes. No driver, no steering wheel, and it still beats everyone to the curb. Great real-world side-by-side, and exactly the kind of test that matters.

A gold Cybercab cruising the Palmetto Expressway in Miami, filmed from a Tesla on FSD right behind it. Great catch. Miami Robotaxi rides are still Model Y today, and on the same day Elon said the zone is headed to the beaches. Florida's next.

2009: 500 employees, ~1,000 cars built, $112M in revenue. 2026: ~135K employees, ~$100B in revenue. Same founder. Same name on stage. 17 years apart. Nic's side-by-side says it all. The Roadster was the bet that made everything else possible, and the sequel has thrusters.

This Model Y is done. Its driver is safe. Curtain airbags out, front end wiped out, cabin still holding its shape. The owner posted it overnight: "Thanks Tesla for saving my life." Tesla replied: "Glad to hear you're safe." Metal can be replaced. Glad you're OK, Michael.
All good things come to an end… Thanks @Tesla for Saving my life.

One major collision every 6 million miles. That's FSD (Supervised) in Tesla's new safety data. The U.S. average is one every 660K miles, roughly 9x worse. Manual Teslas with active safety features land around 2M. Sawyer had the numbers minutes after they dropped.
Tesla has released new FSD (Supervised) safety data. Miles per major collision: • Teslas Driven With FSD (Supervised): 6,006,200 • Teslas Driven Manually (Active Safety Features): 2,031,221 • Teslas Driven Manually (No Active Safety Features): 845,915 • U.S. Average: 660,164 Total major collisions: • Teslas with FSD (Supervised): 1,579 • Teslas driven manually with Active Safety: 17,775 • Teslas driven manually without Active Safety: 239 • U.S. average: 4,989,713 Total miles logged: • Teslas with FSD (Supervised): 9,483,790,215 • Teslas driven manually with Active Safety: 36,104,958,020 • Teslas driven manually without Active Safety: 202,173,600 • U.S. drivers overall: 3,294,031,000,000 Tesla vehicles with FSD (Supervised) engaged experienced ~9x fewer major collisions than those driving without it on. This is North America data across all road classes (highway and non-highway). The data reflects a rolling twelve-month aggregation of miles and collisions.

Tesla Robotaxi just out-drove Waymo in Austin. 438K driverless miles in a single week, vs Waymo's last reported 406K a week (Q2 average). That red line was barely off the floor this summer. Now it's vertical. Nic with the chart of the night.

A whole lot full of Cybercabs just showed up in Dallas. Rows of gold Cybercabs parked off Maple Ave, and Tesla says Cybercab joins the Dallas Robotaxi fleet next month. Austin first, Dallas next. Great catch from Dallas Texas TV.

Waymo vs Tesla, summed up in one photo. One side needs a full rig of lenses and gear. The other walks up in regular glasses, one hand in his pocket, and still lands the shot. Cameras plus AI. Elon gave it a 🎯, and Tesla is nearing 1,000 robotaxis registered in Texas.

Tesla built the Cybercab to last ~500,000 miles. At robotaxi pace of 50,000 miles a year, that's a decade of nonstop rides from one car, off a line that already outpaces deployments. Nic nailed the scale angle. Now multiply by millions.
Tesla says the Cybercab is designed to last ~500,000 miles. Using Ron Baron’s estimate of ~$40–50K in annual profit per car (based on 50,000 miles per year), each Cybercab would generate roughly $400–500K in lifetime profit for Tesla. Do the math with millions of vehicles.

Tesla named the last robot on the Cybercab line Hulk Hogan. Wrapped in gold and red, full Hulkamania. Wheels go on one station earlier, so the first time any Cybercab touches the ground is when it rolls off the line. Teslarati found the best detail in the whole Munro tour.
🚨 Lars Moravy says Tesla installed its final robot on the Cybercab line around the time Hulk Hogan passed away, so it named that machine after the wrestling legend: "This is our final station here. We call that robot Hulk Hogan. It got installed when the legend passed away. So we wrapped it in gold and red, gave it a little Hulkamania look. But we installed the wheels on the second-to-last station… So the first time a Cybercab is ever put down on its wheels is when it rolls off the line."

Ask a kid to name their favorite truck. One dad says his 8-year-old calls out every Cybertruck they pass. Tesla shared it with two words: Cybertruck inspires. No other truck on the road gets kids this fired up. Love that Tesla noticed.

Rush-hour traffic, sun glare, tight merges—and the Tesla stayed remarkably steady. This drive looked smooth from downtown streets to the highway. How confident would you feel supervising a trip like this?

Tesla's Cybercab line is so fast it doesn't even run every day. Lars Moravy says it's outpacing robotaxi deployments: 25 final-assembly stations, about half the floor space per car, 125K+ a year of capacity. Building them isn't the bottleneck anymore. Great pull from Sawyer.
Lars on the Cybercab production line in new interview: "We actually don’t run the line every day because the line can run so fast it’s currently outpacing our robotaxi deployments, so it’s a bit of a race right now to see who can go faster.”

Your Cybercab now glows on your wrist. Robotaxi app 26.10.3 adds Cybercab Live Activities on the lock screen and Apple Watch, lit in your ride's light-bar color with plate and ETA. Plus a big-screen layout for iPads, tablets and foldables. Small touch, big polish. Nice catch, Teslarati.

Tesla just opened up the Cybercab for Munro. Lars Moravy and the Tesla team walked Munro Live through the engineering, design and tech. Full deep dive is live now. Tesla is clearly proud of what's under the skin. Huge get, Munro crew.
The full video is now live on @YouTube! A big thank you to @larsmoravy, @EricETesla, and the rest of the Tesla team for taking the time to walk us through the Cybercab and share the engineering, design, and technology behind it.
