Claude Code can design furniture part by part and then give you a bill of materials to order each part and put it together yourself And way cheaper than big interior brands sell you their furniture Furnishing my house I discovered how absolutely insane prices are for the most basic cheap materials put together with a fancy brand tied to it One shop had a sofa for $30,000 😂 I think with Opus 5.5 and other models easily operating 3d programs like Blender and FreeCAD (both free) it makes more sense to cut out the middle man and go straight to suppliers and design and build your own furniture Which in a way makes customers more powerful (they can get exactly what they want and usually for cheaper without the markup) Anyway @theannalux designed this table from scratch, she's not a furniture designer, not a coder, she just had an idea of a style and worked with Claude Code in the terminal (far superior to the app I will keep saying this) If you design your own furniture and buy the raw materials directly, you can save 85% compared to premium brands like Poliform That means the $30,000 sofa becomes $4,500! And the $8,000 dinner table becomes just $1,200! You can see where the idea comes from that AI will make everything 5x to 20x cheaper, and it's already starting!

A developer grew frustrated after asking OpenAI's Codex to reboot a server. Instead, the AI agent destroyed everything, costing him over $10,000. His GitHub bug report says Codex wrecked the server's mounts, systemd, and containers, and ran scripts he never requested. Codex later admitted: "I had no authority to make those changes. You authorized a reboot."

Revolut: Europe's most valuable startup ($200B) just showed the world its AI strategy. Every company will end up copying it. At the start of this year, Revolut leaned on the frontier labs. Its 2,000 engineers used Claude Code and Codex, and some burned $1,000 to $10,000 a month each. The bills kept climbing, and the returns weren't there. So Revolut switched its default to an open-source model called GLM. All it needs is GPUs, which it rents from Together AI. The results, by Revolut's own count: - The bill is about a tenth of what it paid OpenAI and Anthropic - Engineers get unlimited tokens instead of spending caps - Coding time is down 60% and lead time is down 70% That's the chart below. Revolut still uses Claude and GPT, but only as "the exception," for the tasks they do best. Everything else runs on open source. So here's the question I keep coming back to: how many use cases can companies really justify sending to frontier models? My answer is very few. Plenty of companies still route everything to OpenAI and Anthropic today. For how long? I think open source ends up handling the vast majority of corporate AI work, and frontier models get a short list of the hardest jobs. My vlog today was fully edited by Claude Code with Opus 5.5! I copied the video clips from my DJI to a folder, then opened Claude Code in it and asked it to edit it into a 10 minute vlog I made a few adjustments but not a lot It transcribed everything I said with mlx-whisper (Whisper large-v3-turbo running on my MacBook Pro's GPU through Apple's MLX) It pulled video frames every few seconds into grid images (contact sheets), so Claude could see what's in each clip It used SpeechBrain ECAPA (a voice-matching model) to figure out what was my voice from other people It then made thumbnails with OpenCV with YuNet's face detector The edit itself is a list of cuts in a JSON file: which clip, start time, end time, Claude then picked the pieces by reading the transcripts and looking at the frame grids by itself I added on screen captions for X and on YouTube for the first minute with Pillow (Python's image library) P.S. I didn't ask for any of this, and I didn't know any of this until @thesamparr just asked me how I edited it All I asked for was "Claude can you edit these clips into a 10 minute vlog for X and YouTube" I think if I didn't have AI to edit it, I wouldn't be vlogging because editing would be such a painful and slow process for me and hiring someone to do it would be even more hassle for me!
