Things continue to get worse because bean counters like this have taken over most if not all leadership positions in sports. “Actually the data on audio streaming shows us that…” No one cares. No one cares. Not everything gets to be a transaction. Baseball on the radio is the Costco $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. It’s a loss leader that keeps people engaged on their fishing boat, in the tractor during harvest season, on a long road trip. Color me shocked that the former president of the worst run team in big four sports thinks this way. It’s no wonder the Marlins never cut through if this is how their leadership thinks.

So close Aaron but the word we are looking for is apartheid. We also would've accepted jim crow or herrenvolk democracy
Israel is a preferential democracy. And figuring out how to integrate 2 million Palestinian citizens is critical to a Jewish democratic state. The JL may be bridge too far Gadi. Though look at Bibi’s buddies - Smotrich and Ben Gvir.

The same agency that organized the assassinations of Patrice Lumumba and Rafael Trujillo two years earlier? What's the argument here, that the CIA never carried out a successful assassination?
I have never heard a good argument for how the CIA killed JFK when they couldn’t even kill Fidel Castro

BREAKING: Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro steps off a private jet in Miami after President Trump approved his entry into the United States despite a court order banning him from leaving his home country. Bolsonaro reportedly used an Italian passport to cross into Argentina with his family before boarding a private plane that stopped in Ecuador on its way to Florida. The Trump administration confirmed it is granting visas to Bolsonaro and his family, just days after his election defeat. For the latest details, read the full story: foxnews.com/world/sen-flavio…

"Dictatorship" Cuba sends doctors around the world and directly helped end apartheid in South Africa. Democratic israel activley commits genocide and *is* an apartheid state. Idk maybe there's more to what makes a state good or not than if they are a Liberal Democracy

4 million+ Palestinians live under Israeli sovereignty and cannot vote. That some demographically manageable percent are permitted to vote in Israel proper does not change the reality of apartheid. hrw.org/report/2021/04/27/th…

Of course bret isn't actually upset people are "obsessed" with israel. He's mad, like all the other pro-israel punditry, that people have become increasingly critical of israel and no longer reflexively support it as they may have in the past.
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

I have just published a piece that is very important to me. It's about why so many "progressives" and people on "the left" are lying to us right now about crime, safety, and repression, and what we should be doing instead. equalityalec.substack.com/p/…

The last part of this statement is really stupid. It's an undisputed fact that there is no global food shortage, only localized ones as 1/3rd of all produced food goes to waste. This indicates production & dsitribution is inefficient. This is the socialist critique.
I tend to find that socialists have a very poor idea of what reality itself is. So of course when they read slop it feels realistic. For example a socialist will tell you with a straight face that we already produce enough food to feed everyone, as if that means anything.

Police will be like "you can't ride a bike without a light, it's unsafe," and then murder you.
Eric Wayne Baker was traffic-stopped by Phoenix PD for riding a bicycle without a front light, assaulted during rough arrest, tasered multiple times and restrained until he died during arrest. Eric Wayne Baker Age: 52 Gender: Male Race: White Date: 04/04/2026 Location: Buena Apartments, 1400 block of W. Dobson Road / University Drive and Dobson Road City: Mesa County: Maricopa State: Arizona Agency: Mesa Police Department Officer(s): Not Disclosed Cause of Death: Taser Event: Died after police foot pursuit, physical restraint and multiple Taser deployments during traffic stop for riding bicycle without front light On 04/04/2026 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mesa Police Department officers saw 52-year-old Eric Wayne Baker riding a bicycle near University Drive and Dobson Road. Police said the bicycle lacked a required front light. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens, and Baker continued west on University Drive before entering the Buena Apartments. Two officers pursued him on foot while a third drove around the complex. Baker crashed his bicycle onto a concrete walkway. Police said Baker pulled away, would not give officers his hands, attempted to get up and kicked at officers as they tried to arrest him. During the approximately one-minute-and-35-second struggle, officers physically struck Baker and deployed Tasers multiple times. Three officers eventually handcuffed him. Police also learned Baker had an active felony warrant related to a probation revocation. Bystander video presents a disputed view of the struggle. The recording shows three officers restraining Baker on the ground. Baker's face appears bloodied, and he can repeatedly be heard saying that he cannot breathe. A witness told ABC15 that Baker was not fighting officers but was pleading for help. Baker's daughter, Charlee Baker, later disputed the police account that her father assaulted an officer. Police said approximately 45 seconds after Baker was handcuffed, officers moved him onto his side. About 40 seconds later they requested an expedited medical response. Police said Baker continued yelling, kicking and moving on the ground, and responding medical personnel were initially unable to obtain his vital signs because of his movement. Baker was placed in an ambulance for transport to a hospital. He became unresponsive during transport. Resuscitation efforts were begun, but he died. Baker's family retained civil-rights attorney Benjamin Taylor and questioned the amount of force used during an encounter that began with a bicycle-light violation. Three months after Baker's death, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's autopsy findings had still not been released. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office currently lists Baker's in-custody death investigation as “Awaiting submittal,” with Mesa Police Department as the investigating agency. The three involved officers were placed on 40 hours of critical-incident leave and later returned to duty. Mesa Police did not refer the death to an outside agency, stating that it did not meet the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team's criteria. The department's Critical Incident Review Board, including Internal Affairs and Training Division personnel, is reviewing the incident. Weapon(s): None reported. Reminder that Dawkins dined with Epstein even after his first conviction was public, and argued that “his case is not as black as painted”, and spoke of a “nasty young woman who seems to be running some kind of a witch-hunt” against a physicist who defended Epstein.

CEO of the Atlantic has never seen Kanter play defense
Interesting that the #Celtics have not put Kanter into tonight’s game against the Knicks. If that’s because of his commentary on China, it’s a horrible look for the team and NBA.
