Strange that Bitcoin is pumping after this old lizards news
I have just informed my colleagues that I will step down as @ECB President on 7 February 2027.
It has been a source of great pride to serve this institution.
I thank all of those who have supported me on this journey over the past seven years.
I like this new Apple.
Yes, the Duo may have problems here and there.
Yes, the new Macbook Pro touch screen looks impractical.
But at least, they are trying. They’re taking risks with bigger bets.
Apple under Tim Cook was too safe. Everyone complained that Apple lost their innovation root.
Well, now you have it.
The first iteration may run into problems for sure. But I’m optimistic about the v2 of these product lines.

The reason people feel so impassioned about the Apple Touchscreen MBP is because they actually want Apple to make cool stuff. Nobody would care otherwise. Indifference is the worst thing Apple could hope for. If people have passionate responses, they still care. There's a serious lack of cool hardware, especially new cool hardware, and people want to feel enthusiasm and excitement about products again. Products that actually enhance their lives. 0 to 1 moments. Apple used to provide that. The modern man yearns for the innovation. It lets them feel excited for the future in a future that there is increasingly less to be excited about.
Cringe @johnternus — embarrassing !!
I never thought I’d see the day, but I genuinely believe Apple’s era of innovation, its “Think Different” philosophy, and the core values that once made the company truly extraordinary have come to an end.
Apple was once a company that challenged the status quo, pushed boundaries, and dared to do things differently. Today, it feels like the very principles that made Apple great have been forgotten.
The Apple that Steve Jobs built no longer feels like the Apple we see today. Magic is gone , COOKED .
And that’s something I never imagined I’d say. Yet here we are .

The problem with Apple's new leadership is that they have no taste and no understanding of what innovation is. At this rate, Apple is going to turn into a mutant whose dad is Microsoft and whose mom is Huawei. Mark my words
A great read.
watch apple slowly become just another computer company.
1. no one wants a folding iphone
2. no one wants touch on the mac
stop blindly listening to journalists and have some taste.
i have a UX maxim with a ton of evidence behind it that no one seems to talk about:
if a product you're releasing has worse ergonomics that what currently exists, it WON'T WORK. evidence:
1. the wii -> was a success itself but couldn't go to a next generation because having static controllers is more ergonomic than the waving around gimmick
2. the touchbar -> looking at the small screen is less ergonomic than muscle memory
3. butterfly keyboard
4. touch keyboards on laptops -> no muscle memory
5. stylus
6. VR (and especially the apple vision which is extremely heavy)
7. every voice agent device ever -> rabbit r1, humane pin, muse device and whatever openai has in mind won't work. voice is very limiting in a ton of situations where it would render the device useless.
8. car touchscreens for everything instead of physical buttons (we haven't gone past this yet)
9. 3d tvs
the list goes on.
the proof that this is a law of UX is that the opposite is also true:
1. agents are better than UIs -> having an agent that knows a ton about me, how i like to work and can connect to UIs that are inconsistent and buggy is fantastic and that's why everyone's using them.
2. automatic transmission (unless you're an enthusiast)
3. phone aspect ratios converging (remember early 2000 where all phones were completely different with zero interchangeability?)
4. mice > trackpad
5. airpods
6. keyless car entry
7. tab autocomplete
8. apple pay
9. rolling luggage
touch on a laptop is the most unergonomic thing someone could come up with. how is it easier to lift your arm from the resting position where the trackpad is to touch the same thing the trackpad could touch?
folding phones are a worse version of the ipad, much worse version of the mac, and much worse version of the regular iphone. people don't want to work on their phones.
Apple seemingly ignoring Steve Jobs’ warnings about the poor ergonomics of touchscreen laptops reminds me of when George Lucas sold Lucasfilm and Star Wars to Disney.
Lucas even offered his guidance and ideas for the sequel trilogy, only to have much of his vision disregarded. Instead, Disney took Star Wars in a different direction under Kathleen Kennedy’s leadership, and in my opinion, the franchise suffered tremendously as a result.
Fast-forward to today, and it feels like history is repeating itself. The original visionaries are gone, their philosophies are being abandoned, and the people making these decisions seem to have forgotten what made these companies and franchises successful in the first place.
And the saddest part? Nobody seems to care anymore.
Funny isn’t it ; look where we are with 🍏
It’s a husk of its former self ;
The magic is no longer there
