#PremierLeague 2026/27 after R8
Goal Threat: Erling Haaland (#mcfc), Alexander Isak (#LFC)
Assists: Jérémy Doku, Phil Foden #mcfc
Insight: #ManchesterCity dominate creativity, with Doku, Foden and Rayan Cherki occupying the top three spots for xA per 90.
He's a very easy target because he's not good and can't be dropped.

Is he so bad on the ball or are we just comparing him to the standards of the best to ever do it?
I get the game is changing but I’d argue his distribution this season is improved massively.
I think he’s a very easy target and a lot to those are from the same Ederson haters.

He is that bad yes because Maresca is literally telling our players to not pass to him and our build up has changed and been simplified to accommodate him.
That’s why his direct passing errors have decreased, he’s used less. The indirect impact is much worse.
But the worst part is this isn’t a conversation of, brilliant traditional keeper, poor modern one. His traditional traits are also poor and/or inconsistent. The volume of big errors in big games is horrendous. The Villa goals are one example of many.
So City have given up so much, for very little gain. Contrast that to more balanced keepers and it’s night and day.
You've gone beyond the threshold of Haaland prop to whatever this is. You actually typed this out and thought it sounded reasonable😭

These two has the worst chemistry I have ever seen
I am specualting that cherki has some kind of problem with haaland
He has massive ego, clashes with every manager
Even in Chelsea game + liverpool game he could have passed easily
People used to say that there was more to his game than just goals lol.
Actually, many of these issues aren't even subtle. Doesn't take a genius to see them. People really just don't care till the issues are actively smacking them in the face.
People that disregard these subtle points early will then act surprised when the inevitable happens later on.
Like, we're just now seeing huge groups of people questioning whether Donnarumma has been costing us even though the signs were bright neon before he joined the club.
james mcatee currently offers more than enzo
If Enzo were a recently graduated academy player (rather than our most expensive signing ever) he'd already have played his way back to the EDS.
Some people are giving him more leniency than they would an academy player paradoxically because he's our most expensive signing ever
It's still so funny to me that we spent a record fee to make our midfield worse. There are no upsides to that deal except for the fact that Maresca feels "backed".
This is the first time this season I’ve been genuinely angry.
The individual errors were awful. Guehi again and the myth that Donnarumma is a big game keeper has always been that.
But how do you watch the PSG game and conclude that Bouaddi-Anderson isn’t the solution for these games?
Anderson-Enzo is not a cohesive midfield. Every game they play together the midfield doesn’t exist. You either need to play Enzo advanced or not at all for Villa away because he’s going to be a liability in deeper midfield.
The fact it wasn’t addressed AT ALL staggered me and this feels like a missed opportunity.
