Amazing scenes in Paris yesterday. 800,000 students, workers and Yellow Vests together against the government.
The government, media and the police trying to turn it into a law and order issue but this is a social revolt that is spreading across the continent.
The question of welfare not warfare is ever-present here on the placards and banners and next week French left MPs @LegavreJerome and @DanieleObono will be joining us on our UK tour to explain why and how the protests in France are unfolding and how they relate to the anti-war movement in Britain.
@ShabbirLakha reports from Paris.

Stop the War is central to building the resistance to the war drive. One of the ways we're doing this is by organising a Welfare not Warfare tour, with key speakers from the International Anti-War conference.
But we need to raise funds for venues, travel, accommodation and publicity.

Further education, like many institutions, have always been subject to militarism at various direct and indirect levels but the contamination is ramping up. Please attend this important meeting to learn more and what is to be done.

If he truly believes in his responsibility to leave the world a better place then he’d join us in demanding Burnham and the home secretary de-proscribe Palestine Action, reverse the legislation that now criminalises large amounts of previously lawful protest and drop the charges facing anti-war movement leaders

Looking like the first major day of international coordinated action for Palestine. At a time when the tide is turning. Let’s make it massive in London.

Excellent speech from Lindsey German at yesterday’s protest at the Labour Party Conference…
Andy Burnham went to the UN this week and what did he say? We stand with Israel.
He should understand that if he stands with Israel he will be making one of the biggest political mistakes of his life.

Burnham should be actively opposing Trump’s illegal war on Iran, not taking the UK further into Middle East conflicts, which are bringing so much misery to so many.

Why the Palestine movement must remain vocal and visible to counter the pressure on Labour to retreat from its new sanctions, and so that ministers understand that they will get no relief on the Palestine question until the occupation is ended.

Very important messages here

We need to pressure the Burnham government to stop arming Israel and impose the harshest sanctions on Israel.
Saying that the Labour government got it wrong on Gaza is not action; we demand that the government takes immediate action.

Burnham may have committed to a 3% defence spending target by 2030 but the electorate has not given its consent to it. Labour's 2024 manifesto made no such commitment.

'A total of £70.4b wiped off UK households’ real disposable incomes by the Middle East conflict'
Trade union leaders called on the PM to oppose and stop facilitating the US's war on Iran precisely because of this!
Has Burnham responded 🤔
