Dejan Šoškić, the former head of Serbia's central bank, is one of the more serious candidates to be the country's new PM. He has suggested lustration, in particular of Vucic's expansive party-oligarchs, will be a priority for the/his new government.
That term, lustration, is central to what did not happen in Serbia the last time the country swept away a strong man leader, Slobodan Milosevic.
The security archives were never opened, the regime's apparatchik class never ejected, and the intelligence, military, and police apparatus never reformed. The result was the return of the Milosevic B-team, with Vucic at its fore, barely 11 years later.
The new government in Belgrade, if it is serious about making a historic break with Vucic, and with Milosevic for the matter, must pursue a serious lustration policy.
Declassify the security archives; allow us to finally learn the whole truth of the Serbian state's direct involvement in the wars of the 90s; to learn whom the regime(s) of Milosevic and Vucic surveilled, harassed, and assassinated; and let us finally learn the true extent the network of political and media collaborators in Serbia itself, the region, and Europe more broadly. Including the names of a few of those prominent personalities, including on this platform, who welcomed the change of government through gritted teeth.
The past forty years have shown, time and again, that Serbian nationalism, as an ideological project, has two pillars: authoritarianism at home, and expansionism abroad. Last night, the Serbian public rejected the former. No one truly expects them to reject the latter overnight. But the new government can begin that process by revealing the true costs of the latter, first and foremost for the Serbian people themselves, and begin charting a slow, uneven course into a different future for the entire region.

אבא שלי נולד בנובי-סאד, העיר השנייה בגודלה בסרביה, על גדת נהר הדנובה. הוא היה אוהד של קבוצת וויבודינה.
גר ברחוב הרכבת, לא רחוק מהתחנה (תיכף נחזור לתחנה הזו). במרכז העיר יש עד היום בניין קהילה ובית כנסת גדול, יפהפה.
אני יודע שחשבתם עד לרגע זה שאבא שלי היה הונגרי, וגם זה נכון. הוא נולד בסרביה למשפחה של דוברי הונגרית, וכל חייו החזיק את שתי הזהויות.
כשהייתי ילד היינו נוסעים ליער בן-שמן פעם בשנה, למפגש של הקהילה הסרבית. הם היו מנגנים באקורדיון, אוכלים נקניקיות ורוקדים. זה היה מצחיק לראות את אבא ככה - איש שמן רוקד.
צוחק ורוקד ואוכל עוד נקניקיה.
״הסרבים,״ אבא היה אומר, ״היו היחידים שמעולם לא ויתרו לנאצים. הם לקחו רובים ועלו להרים, להלחם משם. סרבים לא נכנעים לעולם.״
בנובמבר 2024 קרס הגג של התחנה בנובי-סאד. 16 איש נהרגו. התברר שהתחנה שופצה פעמיים תוך כמה שנים, מקורבים של השלטון נחקרו, שנתיים אחרי אף אחד לא נענש.
ברחובות נולדה סיסמא: ״השחיתות הורגת״.
הצעירים התחילו לצאת להפגין. כל בוקר ב- 11:52, השעה שבה קרס הגג, הם עצרו את המדינה ל-16 דקות דומיה. דקה לזכר כל הרוג. על הגשרים ניתלו שלטים שתבעו ועדת חקירה ממלכתית. במרץ 2025 מאות אלפים יצאו לרחובות.
ווצ'יץ', הנשיא, הפעיל עליהם את כל המכונה.
אמר שהם ״סוכנים זרים״, פעילי המפלגה שלו הפעילו אלימות, ערוצי התקשורת שלו הפיצו עליהם שקרים. ישראל איינהורן, היועץ של נתניהו שברח מישראל בגלל קטאר-גייט, היה אחד מיועצי הקמפיין.
חלק גדול מהקמפיין היה על הקשרים הקרובים של ווצ'יץ' עם טראמפ.
רוב הסקרים אמרו שווצ'יץ' הולך לנצח.
״סקר הסקרים״, יומיים לפני הבחירות, נתן לו יתרון של 3%. הרבה מאוד סרבים שקעו בדכדוך, אמרו, ״הוא לא יילך לעולם, הוא ימציא משהו ברגע האחרון.״
אבל הרבה יותר סרבים אמרו, ״אל תבלבלו את המוח. אנחנו פשוט נלחם על המדינה האהובה שלנו ולא נוותר.״
הבחירות היו אתמול. ווצ'יץ' הפסיד. בגדול.
אחוזי ההצבעה היו הגבוהים ביותר מאז התפרקה יוגוסלביה וסרביה זכתה בעצמאות. ווצ'יץ' הפסיד בפער של 13%. הודה בתבוסה.
הסרבים אמרו, אנחנו לא מוכנים שירמו אותנו, אנחנו לא קונים תעמולת הפחדה, השחיתות והשקרים לא ינצחו אותנו. הם אמרו: אנחנו סרבים, ואנחנו נחליט על העתיד שלנו. אבא צדק, הם לא נכנעו.
ואנחנו ישראלים, ואנחנו לא נכנעים, ואנחנו נחליט על העתיד שלנו.
מחר נוכיח את זה.

Quan veus que l'expresident Jose Sarney, una figura rellevant dins de la dreta històrica brasilera, dona suport a Lula i va a votar amb una xapeta seva, es que la cosa no va de "comunismo o libertad". O que el vicepresident sigui Alckmin, pes pesant de la dreta anti-Bolsonaro.
Podríem buscar tots els elogis del president Trump cap a Corea del Nord i el president Kim Jong-un, i lo bons amics que són. O la cordialitat amb Xi Jinping i Xina dient que el model xinès li agrada molt.
Brasil se encamina a reemplazar a Cuba y Venezuela como centro neurálgico del comunismo y el crimen internacional en Latinoamérica. Argentina tiene que ir a un control extremo de las fronteras con Brasil y salir ya del Mercosur.
Estados Unidos tiene que asfixiar económicamente a Brasil, así se actúa con el comunismo.
Sempre és interessant mirar l'hemeroteca, i veure que Estats Units ha tingut bones relacions amb Brasil des de fa dècades governessin socialdemòcrates o conservadors. Indiferentment d'haver-hi presidents demòcrates o republicans a la Casa Blanca.
