JUST IN: Musician Tulina Ndafyaalako, known as Young T, has been fined N$8 000 or eight months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to refusing to provide a breath or blood specimen when requested by police. His driver’s license was also suspended for six months.
The sentence was handed down in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this afternoon by magistrate Nelao Ya France, following proceedings in which the 36-year-old artist admitted guilt in terms of section 112(2) of the Criminal Procedure Act.
Ndafyaalako was charged with contravening section 82(9) of the Road Traffic and Transport Act 22 of 1999, which criminalises refusal to provide a specimen when lawfully instructed to do so by a police officer.
Kadhila Amoomo Legal Practitioners represented Ndafyaalako, while Tony Bock represented the state.
