On this date in 1986, Bill Buckner recorded one of the most infamous errors in MLB history. 🫣
The Mets would go on to defeat Boston in Game 7 to win the World Series and the curse of the Bambino continued until 2004 for the Red Sox.

Tim Raines and Gary Carter — the Rock and the Kid — gave the Montreal Expos their heartbeat. Raines set the tempo at the top of the order, and Carter drove the club from behind the plate and the middle of the lineup.
Their shared Montreal years ran from Raines's debut in 1979 through Carter's trade after the 1984 season, and the peak came in 1981. With Andre Dawson beside them, they carried the Expos to the first postseason berth in franchise history; Carter hit .429 across the two series, while Raines returned from a broken hand to face Los Angeles after missing the Philadelphia series. Montreal fell one win short of the World Series. Carter finished with 220 home runs for the Expos and reached Cooperstown in 2003. Raines made seven straight All-Star teams with Montreal, stole 808 bases in his career, and joined Carter in the Hall of Fame in 2017.
