Thanks to Helen Zille, after almost 2 years, the residents of Snake Park in Soweto finally have their electricity restored! 💪
She raised funds and bought them a brand new transformer in partnership with @Eskom_SA! 👏

Imagine the ANC Premier leaving his hotel shower and arriving to take a victory lap for a transformer that Helen Zille and the DA bought and installed.
Where was his government when residents needed the problem solved? Helen got the job done while Panyaza arrived for the cameras. Actions speak louder than photo opportunities.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post attributes the Snake Park transformer replacement to the Gauteng government, but images show DA flags beside the blue transformer and accounts credit Helen Zille with funding its purchase.

Joburg - we have no water.
Tshwane - we have no water or we get sewer water.
Cape Town - Please can you keep the noise from the leaf blowers down.
I'm teasing you Greg. But the truth is, I am just really jealous. The @CityofCT even responded.
You should move to Joburg, they dont even have leaf blowers. Or rakes.
Dear @CityofCT, the leaf blowers used by your cleaning crews are seriously noisy. Please consider quieter equipment, or even good old-fashioned rakes. The noise pollution is becoming unbearable, and I’m getting close to asking the crews to stop when they work outside my house. Surely we can keep our streets clean without this racket?

I just saw an ANC member of parliament, Supra Mahumapelo, calling for laws to punish citizens who denounce or criticise their country. The ANC is sick.
He was clearly talking about organisations like AfriForum. I can’t wait for the ANC to go. They are a stain on South Africa.

SARS is the devil, okes. No way. We’re being punished for working hard, only to watch our money fund corruption. This is actually insane.

BREAKING NEWS | A senior @SAPoliceService official has been linked to the brutal rape of a teenager in Johannesburg.
It’s believed he had plied the schoolgirl with alcohol before forcing himself on her at a hotel earlier this year.
The officer has now been arrested at an upmarket strip club, in full view of patrons.
Details only on @eNCA.
This has to be a joke??? With everything going on in this country, the ANC pack out a court room to support an abuser. South Africa needs better!

Really not sure what is more concerning for the public, the fact that there is potentially a serial killer committing these murders or 9 separate murderers. Very sad and fully understand why women are terrified at the moment!

A man threatens to murder women who apparently rejected his advances, suggesting his wealth will protect him.
With @SAPoliceService renewing its commitment to tackling GBV after the discovery of murdered women in Ekurhuleni, this will test how serious that commitment really is.

INTIMIDATION | The victims in these video clips are encouraged to come forward and open criminal cases against the ruffian seen threatening women with being shot and killed.
The matter may enable the Designated Firearms Officer (DFO) to institute a Section 102 procedure under the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, which may result in this ruffian declared unfit to possess a firearm and/or, the suspension or cancellation of any firearm licence, competency certificates or permit held by him.
Threats of violence against anyone, especially women, must be taken seriously and reported.

What a disgrace..
but the powers at be try to convince us they are doing all they can to protect our women.. but they can’t even keep the lights on! 🤬🤬

ANC is no longer a problem in this country, our problem is those who are still voting for it.

Imagine waking up on 4 November knowing that millions of South Africans have made a collective decision to vote the ANC out of power.
Imagine the message that it would send—not only to the ANC, but to every political party in South Africa: voters are watching, voters are listening, and voters have the power to change the political landscape
Imagine a South Africa where political parties can no longer take communities for granted. Where politicians understand that the fears, frustrations and everyday struggles of residents matter. Where a vote is no longer simply a party-loyalty exercise, but a powerful tool to demand accountability, better leadership and functioning communities.
We can change the direction of our country. We can send a clear message that political power belongs to the people, and that those entrusted with it must earn the right to keep it.
One thing we can say thank you to the ANC for ensuring there are plenty of saffas in the US, almost a home game! #bokke
