MOLEFE AND CO-ACCUSED MURDER CASE POSTPONED TO JULY 2027
@NPA_Prosecutes
The Gauteng Division of the High Court in Johannesburg has postponed the case against businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe and his co-accused, Michael Pule Tau (55), Tiego Floyd Mabisela (45) and Musa Kekana, to 19 July 2027.
The postponement is to allow a separate trial involving Mabisela and Kekana to be finalised.
The court has ordered that those proceedings continue uninterrupted until their conclusion.
As the same prosecutors and some of the defence lawyers are involved in both matters, the partly heard trial must be concluded before the case against Molefe and his co-accused can proceed.
Molefe’s bail was extended, while his co-accused remain in custody.
The accused face 35 charges, with the State alleging that Molefe orchestrated the murder of Oupa Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody, together with his co-accused. Sefoka was shot and killed in Woodmead on 20 November 2022.
The State further alleges that forensic evidence links the high-calibre rifles used in Sefoka’s murder to other high-profile killings, including those of Hector Buthelezi, popularly known as DJ Vintos, Don Tindleni and Armand Swart, as well as other incidents allegedly linked to a broader organised crime network.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) remains trial-ready and committed to prosecuting the matter without further delay once the outstanding proceedings have been concluded.

Update on water restrictions affecting Garsfontein and Klapperkop systems.
These two reservoirs remain critically low as high water consumption continues to slow down recovery and resulting in limited supply to some areas.
We appeal to residents to use water sparingly to enable the full recovery of the reservoirs and ensure adequate supply to all areas. @CityTshwane

JHB Water:
Precautionary water quality alert in Bezuidenhout Valley
Johannesburg Water confirms that the water samples collected last week met the required water quality standards including confirmation from the final test outcomes.
As an additional precaution and form of assurance, a second set of samples was
collected last night, 25 October 2026, to verify water quality before restoring supply for
consumption and use.
A water supply interruption delayed the collection of these follow-up samples.
The affected properties are along 8th Avenue, at the corners of 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Streets.
Customers must continue to refrain from using the water until Johannesburg Water issues an official clearance notice.
Tankering will continue while the restriction remains
in place.
Customers will be notified once the follow-up results have been assessed and Water Quality clearance has been issued.
We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience and disruption caused, however, it is important that there is adequate assurance of the testing outcomes.
Please be
assured of our seriousness and urgency to attend to the matter.
Alternative water provision has been improved and will be maintained as best and practically as possible.

#SenzoMeyiwaTrial
Today marks 12 years since football star #SenzoMeyiwa was shot and killed at the home of his then girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo.
An update on the case:
In July 2023, the trial began de novo (afresh), under retired Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng.
The State closed its case in July 2025 after calling multiple witnesses, three of whom were inside the house when the shooting took place. The State alleges
that the five accused were hired by Khumalo to kill the footballer.
Where are we now?
The defence case.
Accused 1 and 2 have presented and closed their cases. Both took the stand and called witnesses in their defence.
The court is now hearing the State’s cross-examination of accused 3, Mthobisi Mncube, who is alleged to have been the gunman.
Accused 4 and 5 are yet to present their defence cases.
Once all the evidence has been heard, the parties will make their closing arguments before the court delivers its judgment.
All five men deny involvement in Meyiwa’s murder. @Newzroom405
