You expect a Pastor to tell his congratulation to not marry only Christians, I don’t get?
the person you are tagging, i saw a clip where he was telling christians to only marry christians bc of one thing one thing. i don't think he's any different.

Lessons will be learnt. In the meantime, let’s keep speaking English and deceiving ourselves.
Turkey was once overwhelmingly Christian (99%). Today, it is overwhelmingly Muslim (99%). Yet there is no documented example of a country that went from being majority Muslim to majority Christian. Why do you think this historical pattern exists?

Ha! This one isn’t good for Nigerian men oo
Under the new uk immigration rules, Victims of domestic abuse can apply immediately for ILR inside the UK, without needing to wait to meet any other criteria like salary or time spent living in the uk. Evidence showing the marriage or relationship broke down permanently due to domestic abuse or domestic violence is required in the application. They can get ILR within 6months. It may even granted earlier. Each situation is handled uniquely. I forgot to mention this category yesterday in the post about the new uk immigration policy decisions.

Well, you can only accuse him of discrimination but you can’t call him a liar.
These CCI Pastors, do they actually teach these things in church? Does Tomiwa, for instance, stand in front of the congregation and preach discrimination and hatred for all Muslims simply because of their religion?

They are cooking him, but he is right. Time will tell.
Mamdani first muslim mayor, El-Sayed first muslim senator. Good job, America. The soup you're cooking, when it's done you won't be able to eat it.

I just wish Nigeria was a working country. What is all this headache??
Just to encourage someone. When we came, on a student visa (almost 2 decades ago) the route to ILR, for so many, was 10 years. Getting any company to sponsor you if you weren't in the health sector (Dr,nurse, etc) was like looking for a needle in a haystack. When our student visa ran out,my husband jumped on the post-study work visa(he was the last set before they discontinued it for a while). The difference btw then and now is that the 10years route then wasn't straightforward. While you are just applying to renew on the same visa category you are already on, then we had to find what visa to jump onto once the one you were on was running out. So after the post-study work ran out, we had to jump on the entrepreneur visa. We did that for another three years and it ran out. After that we had to jump again into a student visa(payinginternationalschool fees for another two years). It was while on this visa that we qualified for ILR. You can imagine how much in fees we had to part with for our family. I don't even want to mention how much that entrepreneur visa cost us. But,in the end,we got there. And we are recovering. All the years we spent working for visa fees,we have our passport now and we are recovering. I know it look gloomy now but 10years will come and it'll go and you will achieve the goal that brought you, then you'll begin to recover. It's heartbreaking, I know, but as long as they don't change the rules again in the coming years, there's a silver lining. You'll all be fine.

This is a made up story.
For the umpteenth time, let me tell you about the benefits of cohabitation. My friend dated his girl for three solid years. They were already preparing for marriage. Both sets of parents knew each other. Wedding plans were underway when they decided to move in together. They never planned to cohabit. It just happened. They lived together for two months and cancelled the wedding. Here is what surfaced. 1. She does not eat rice, garri or fufu. It is always noodles, spaghetti, yam and egg sauce. That was not even the main issue. She said she cannot cook what she does not eat. So she only cooked for herself. He could eat from it if he wanted. 2. She never wakes up before 9am. At first he thought she was tired. Then he saw it was her normal pattern. She does not see it as a problem. She would wake up and nag that he had not made food. She kept complaining he is not romantic and that he should serve her breakfast in bed. 3. She cannot sleep with the lights off. He prefers total darkness. He thought he could adjust. It turned into a serious argument. 4. She is extremely noisy with music. The speaker is almost never off. She plays it loudly while doing chores, bathing and even sleeping. He complained several times. She said that is how she likes it. 5. She is extremely particular. Move a spoon from point A to point B by mistake and she loses it. She is a perfectionist about the smallest things most people ignore. Everything must be done exactly her way. 6. She bathes only once every two days if she is not going out. She claims she falls sick easily so she avoids frequent baths. Even on her period she only washes up. 7. If she cooks, serves him food and he leaves anything on the plate, she refuses to cook for him for the next three or four days. According to her, leaving food is an insult to her cooking. 8. She does not like sex. Most times he does not even cum (ejaculate) before she gets tired. Two minutes in and she is already pushing him away. Even when he begs her to let him cum first, she refuses. He never saw this side clearly before because they usually drank alcohol in hotels. Tipsy, she performs. Sober, she is boring. The final straw came when she repeatedly forgot to flush the toilet because she was always on her phone. One day they were about to have sex and he saw faeces still on her anus. She had not wiped at all. He was so disgusted he sent her packing immediately. He nearly threw up. If you know what is good for you, cohabit before marriage. It will not reveal everything about a person, but if you are not blind you will see more than enough. Above all, love God.

There is divorce in Christianity oo, you people should read your bibles.
Your pastor is committing adultery in your presence and you are cheering because it aligns with how the world relate. There is no divorce in Christianity. Your old partner must die before you remarry. This is Christianity of Convenience.

This is like a child who constantly steals his Father’s money, but goes around complaining that his Father doesn’t earn enough.
JJ Omojuwa is right. Our major problem is NOT corruption as many Nigerians have been raised to believe. Our biggest problem is inadequate wealth creation/revenue challenge. South Africa comfortably does an annual budget of $130billion compared to Nigerias measly <$40billion for a 230 million population. We must stop barking up the wrong tree.

Why do we always assume that people that spend so much on holidays are those that struggled all through the year? Different people have different financial abilities. We can’t all be poor.
Imagine saving and budgeting throughout the year, you won’t eat good food, won’t switch on heating, living like a church rat, you’ll then spend it all on a two-week holiday in Nigeria. 💀💀

Your friend’s feeling is valid and she is not overthinking it. The man should repay her for the items she bought, and make it clear he doesn’t appreciate such purchases.
So my friend’s man’s cleaner has a habit of buying things for the house with her own money, and it’s not the first time. The other day, she bought a new waste bin and Parker. My friend thought her man had bought them because she had been meaning to get them, only for him to say the cleaner bought them, brought them to show him and insisted he didn’t have to pay her back. My friend is beginning to feel weird about it. I don’t know, do you guys think she’s overthinking it? Maybe the girl is just genuinely nice?

Nigerians in Diaspora, na wa. There is nothing unrealistic about a salary of 1M.
I think most Nigerians overestimate themselves and their skillset. No thanks to social media, people go for interviews with unrealistic salary figures because “I am pricing my worth” China, India, Philippines and Kenya are becoming global commercial powerhouses because they are leveraging on their low currency to dollar disparity to provide cheaper labour for high currency rate countries in the west. Thereby providing jobs for their people. But Nigerians want to be paid same wage someone in UK, Europe or the Americas earn simply because “I know my worth” My Chinese Partner was telling me yesterday there are places in China with average monthly pay of less than $250. India is less than $65. Same with Philipines and Kenya. Nigeria has a minimum wage of 70,000 Naira which is around $50, international and local companies will price your skillset in your local currency starting from your minimum wage. Many Nigerians are financially delusional for a people that is the poverty capital of the world with the highest out of school children and the most terrorised country in the world. Thats how I interviewed a young lady for a part time admin role and she said her salary expectation is 1.5 million naira. For Admin ?? In Nigeria? For same amount I can get a part time admin here in the UK 25 hours a week.m, and they would pray for me daily cos the job market now in UK is horrible. No jobs. But a remote worker in Nigeria wants 1.5 million Naira to do a part time admin work. Everyone wants to rich overnight. You guys are not serious

Apples and oranges. The metaphorical nature of the statement doesn't stop it from being harmful. Both examples you gave, have strong core attributes that they share. You can liken life to a journey because they share many similarities
“Pregnancy is a death sentence” is a metaphor like “life is a journey” or “time is a revealer”. Not literally true but explains its gravity. Obvious to any reasonable person. If you interpret it as saying that means pregnancy = expected or automatic death, you might be a moron.
