Update - OISY 2.6.3 OISY now lets you top up any canister with your TCYCLES and adds LI.FI to your swap providers. Compute, from your wallet to any canister: Since 2.6 you can turn ICP into TCYCLES and hold compute in your wallet. Now you can use it to keep a canister running. On the TCYCLES page, press Top up, paste the canister ID and choose an amount. OISY checks the canister exists first, and the canister gets the cycles. You don't need a command line, and you don't need to be the canister's controller. LI.FI - more ways to swap: LI.FI's offers now show up next to Velora and NEAR Intents, with routes across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and Robinhood Chain, and on to Solana. OISY reads every LI.FI swap before you approve it and only offers it if it pays you the token you asked for, at least the minimum shown. And when there's no direct swap it can check, OISY can suggest two, through one token in between. Closer checks before you approve: OISY now reviews WalletConnect requests more closely on Solana, Bitcoin and EVM networks. Signing out also clears the permissions you gave connected apps. And as always, many more quality of life improvements Double-click your balance to hide it, and swaps in progress now follow you across devices. Try it now on oisy.com

ICP Founder Says AI, Not Quantum Computing, Is Crypto’s Real Threat The founder of Internet Computer (@Dfinity) believes AI recently disproved the Exponential Time Hypothesis, long considered true. The core algorithms aren't in danger for now, but Dominic sees this as clear proof that AI could change the playing field for crypto. The criticism targets chains using "quantum-safe" signatures. Practical quantum computing is still years away, and their usage is expected to be very limited. The warning is that complex new algorithms could contain devastating bugs. In fact, AI has already identified vulnerabilities in HAWK, a quantum-safe algorithm that NIST withdrew. ICP will not participate in the "post-quantum mania".

AI just proved that the Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH) is false. Cryptography relies on ETH, but luckily this particular discovery doesn't threaten core algorithms yet. However, ETH was thought true for almost 30 years, and is highly relevant in the field. This illustrates how AI is the true threat to crypto and security, because it can move the ground under our feet, and it's here today. Currently, many chains are promoting their migration to "quantum safe" signatures and other schemes. Meanwhile, cryptographically-relevant quantum computers won't be around for some years, and even when they are, they'll be specialized machines, requiring special environments, rather than easily accessible mass market devices, and it will be relatively easy for authorities and regulatory frameworks to control their use, at least initially. Renting them for the purposes of hacking won't be allowed, for obvious reasons (not that this is something we should rely upon, but it impacts any objective threat analysis). However, there are dangers with adopting these schemes. The less well-studied and more complex a cryptography algorithm, the greater the chance that a sudden shift in our understanding of theoretical computer science or mathematics, or sophisticated analysis by AI, will suddenly reveal a catastrophic bug. The first real-world harbinger of the dangers occurred when AI found issues with HAWK, a quantum-safe algorithm that was passing through NIST's standardization process at the time (it was withdrawn). Chain operators' desire to ride narratives and exploit the tendency of web3 investors tendency to seize onto this or that carefully promoted story, who for the most part do not use crypto technology beyond holding and trading tokens, and who lack understanding of the theoretical issues involved, is certainly exploitative for a simple reason — whereas historical technical safety manias used for commercial purposes, such as Y2K, only collected money, this one also risks user safety. Chains sell adoption of quantum safe signature schemes to token buyers and users that in reality reflect a kind of stupidity, and irresponsibility, rather than actions reflecting wise stewardship protecting people from an imminent quantum meltdown. Meanwhile, of course, while adding support for a new post quantum signature algorithms doesn't involve much engineering work, it allows them to post pictures of their logo next to photos of quantum computers, so they can sell the ignorant on how sci-fi and advanced they are, which makes it particularly attractive to them. Important note: you'll hear about some serious people performing post quantum encryption of messages. That's different. They're calculating the risk that adversaries, such as state adversaries, perform mass storage of encrypted messages containing secrets, so that they can extract the secrets from them 10 years from now, say, when they finally have cryptographically-relevant quantum computers. This is a different kind of risk they are addressing. The perverse tragedy of the quantum mania craze that's currently gripping crypto is that on the one hand it shows how so many chains are driven by a desire to sell tokens first, rather than pursue sound engineering practices, and on the other, their willingness to lie and risk user safety in the process. This, all while the real wolf is at the door as concerns our engineering — AI that's rapidly advancing, here today, accessible to many, and difficult to control. What I can promise, is that DFINITY will be focusing on mitigating this real risk, and no matter the post quantum mania, we won't be joining it, and will instead try to plot the most responsible course. sansser.com/articles/exponen…

What if applications could run directly on blockchain infrastructure? That's part of the vision behind base:0x00f3c42833c3170159af4e92dbb451fb3f708917 and the Internet Computer. Its architecture uses canisters: smart contracts that can combine computation with persistent data and serve web content. The broader idea includes: → Onchain application logic → Persistent application state → Web-based user experiences → Decentralized infrastructure → Developer-built services The long-term challenge is attracting developers and users while making performance, costs, and reliability competitive. A blockchain becomes more interesting when people use the applications built on it.

Dominic Williams, DFINITY founder, promotes the "State of AI 2026" report as a strong piece on ICP; - The report serves as the official Dubai AI Festival 2026 publication powered by DFINITY, profiling Williams and positioning Internet Computer as a sovereign cloud with tamperproof serverless features used by entities like Pakistan's Digital Authority and the UN. - Williams' follow-up details his first keynote at the festival on ICP's agentic infrastructure, which received positive feedback including applications for cloud engine coupons, with the attached image showing him presenting on stage.

This was the first time DFINITY attended an AI event, but it's just the start. Thank you to the organizers for a great time. I explained the way that the Internet Computer | ICP now provides the ultimate agentic infrastructure, and it was tremendously well received, with some stunning follow-ups (more details in time). At the end my keynote, I gave out an email where you can apply for cloud engine coupons — and we're already seeing a steady stream of applications from that audience. The Internet Computer remains the first network creating genuine impact in the mainstream world, and the potential is unlimited.

Dominic goes on to touch on the subject of AI. Making the point that AI-powered hackers are making traditional compute infrastructure increasingly insecure, and that tamperproof software helps fix that. He added that it matters when AI builds and updates services, which it can do at the speed of conversation. On stacks that are not tamperproof, he said, security and sysadmin teams have to stay in the loop, and that slows production down a lot.

In the same article @PierreSamaties follows up to say: Cloud engines are created from open source technology, free of hidden foreign backdoors and kill switches, and engines host tamperproof apps that cannot be hacked into, which is a game-changer for large and developing countries alike. In his words, anything is possible.

In the report, Dominic and his team describe cloud engines as an open evolution of cloud for an era in which enterprises want sovereignty and platforms that play better with AI. Dominic lays out his vision plainly for cloud engines, explaining how an enterprise can choose the compute nodes behind its own cloud, from independent data center hardware, virtual nodes on hyperscaler clouds, and on-prem machines. Check out the article on pages 45 - 48.
