He's actually voting for the Chief Executive and several members of the Legislature for the United States of America but thanks for the joke I guess. Maybe this means he has to pay income tax now too, and as Sovereign of the Vatican, well, the IRS might have funny ideas.
The last time Leo XIV voted was to elect a pope. This time he's voting for East Joliet Sanitary District Trustee Board At-large. May he discern wisely.

Smdh man. Awful. Just awful.
VATICAN: "Pope Leo XIV has exercised his right to vote as a citizen of the United States, every time he had the opportunity. The Holy See Press Office confirms that, in line with this established practice of civic participation, the Pope has sent his ballot by mail to Chicago. The Holy Father has also confirmed that, during the years in which he resided in Peru, he exercised his right to vote every time he had the opportunity. The Holy Father expresses his conviction regarding the right and duty of citizens to participate in democratic processes.”

I used to bitch about it more often but a strange turning point for me was when, in casual conversation about the Bible, a friend of mine told me, non-judgmentally, that the figure I most resemble is Cain. Made me think about how I carried resentment for my older brother
My life has always been defined by being the middle section between two actually important things (my brother and my sister).

one of the many ways Obama is remarkable is that everyone lauds him as an amazing orator, world class, historical even, but literally no one can remember a single phrase from any of his speeches. a world class orator who has never once uttered a memorable phrase. truly in a class of his own.

He should, on camera, destroy the ballot as a show of both his own Sovereignity and the USA's.
I have seen some people defend this, and I still just think it's a really bad idea. What if somebody leaks his ballot? It could be a grave scandal

If Pope Leo votes, that would basically be a decleration of him being under purview of the US Gov, wouldn't it?

They like the fun stuff for idk 6 weeks? A little something different the. 4-12 years of sofa and screen
Women are really attracted to fun, dangerous and exciting things that's why relationship activity largely consists of sitting or lying on a piece of furniture watching a screen.

"This is called Samurai Jack"
Idea: RPG where the protag loses against the big bad in act 1 and gets transported into the hellscape bad end future where everything sucks, you have to reform your party from descendants of your old teammates who all are horribly dysfunctional and broken in various ways.

This has not been the case in my experience however much you may want to wishcast it so. The extremely devout, maybe. Like 3-4 times a week plus adoration. But rank and file lay? No.
Catholics who go to Mass at least weekly should & usually do share more values than people of the same race. I'd rather my siblings marry a Nigerian or Filipino Catholic who goes to Mass than a neo pagan who looks like us.

Blackmun’s argument in Roe v. Wade literally rests upon argumentum ad dead Greeks delayed ensoulment quickening in order to argue for the continuation of a common law legal fiction. It’s a bad argument because the Supreme Court has eliminated or modified established common law on the basis that said laws were either outdated (police may kill any fleeing felon. Outdated because all felonies used to be capital crimes) or historical accidents (12 person juries). But ohh no we must keep this legal fiction because people believed the guy who said women had less teeth than men. The last paragraph is also terrible because punishments for certain murders are greater than others.

Don't worry though, in between browbeating *you* - This will receive Zero reprimands just like Cardinal Cupich honoring an abortion activist. teapawt.net/NiwaLimbu1988/status/2…
Imho, Pope Leo needs to just stop talking. Whether his ideas are bad, or not, 75% of what he says at minimum requires rationalization and is oftentimes blantantly scandalous to the Faithful. Demoralizing.

I don’t want to popesplain here but its fairly easy to rationalize this with the preconciliar magisterium if you just look at this in isolation and not his writings on just war theory. Warfare is a biproduct of the fall. That doesn’t mean a war cannot be justified nor heroism cannot be found.

The idea that you should have to "Popesplain" at all is a grave indictment. He should be clear. Or be private. No in between.

If I was an atheist and my only exposure to Christianity was the Babylon Bee folks, I'd want the religion eradicated entirely. The willful and continued dishonesty from these people, while parading around the cross like an accessory to justify their dishonesty, is sickening.

My hot take: Modern pornography consumption is a result of a passion*less* society and more a result of sloth than lust.
Just a thought, but maybe “conservative” bishops are kept awake worrying about teaching sexual morality because a rumoured 10% of young women have OF accounts, virtually all men have consumed porn with an average exposure age of 12, and a rising number of…

Sexual morality is related, sure, but its not the answer here. We live in a frigid, cold world
