🐘"HOW LONG WILL THE SLOWNESS OF JUSTICE CONDEMN THE ELEPHANT MAISON TO ISOLATION?
by gabrielemingorance
✨"The battle for the fate of Maison, an elephant kept at the Fábio Barreto Forest in Ribeirão Preto, has reached its limit for animal rights advocates. At approximately 56 years old and facing a chronic eye problem, she has lived in complete social isolation since 2020. Time is running out for her health, and civil society no longer accepts the slow pace of this case.
✨"The argument that advanced age prevents the transport of large animals has definitively fallen apart. Recently, Sandro, an elephant practically contemporary with Maison at 54 years old, was successfully transferred to the Brazilian Elephant Sanctuary after a long legal battle.
✨"Images of him free, exploring the forest and enjoying dust baths, prove that the change is not only viable but brings an immediate and visible return to happiness.
✨"Maison has a gentle and charismatic way about her that charms everyone, but her sweetness cannot be used as justification for conformity; she urgently needs that same chance before solitary confinement causes irreversible damage to her mental and physical health.
✨"The bureaucracy of the courts cannot override the dignity of a living being; it's time to demand swift action from the competent authorities.
✨"Let's work together to ensure Maison knows freedom before it's too late.

Transport risk is often cited as a reason to keep Lucy where she is. But short-term, carefully managed transport must be weighed against long-term relief from chronic pain, isolation & environmental stress. Geriatric 🐘have been successfully relocated with documented improvements

except zoos transport elephants all the time...
and whether from Ontario to California, or from across the US to sanctuary in Tennessee, or from Argentina, Chile, or Brazil to sanctuary in Brazil...

After breakfast, Mara enjoyed a cool-down while Rana had foot care. The elephant shower gave Mara a chance to stand under the spray, sip the water, and walk away refreshed on a warm morning. Read more: ow.ly/1fxZ50Y5Llw

🌴🐘🐘...and now Maia allows Bambi to be a protector...💞
"at the farm in Paraguaçu, we saw that Maia was dominant and could be food possessive and pushy.
Here she has shown just the opposite, allowing Guida to actually play the dominant role at times"

oh... 😻... Mud Blob Maia
"In typical Maia style, after playing for a little bit, there was only one thing left to do – nap.
As you can see, she is coated in mud and drifting in and out of her sleepy time as she “periscopes” at Scott filming her"
