Solarpunk is a literary and artistic movement that envisions and works toward actualizing a sustainable future interconnected with nature and community. The "solar" represents solar energy as a renewable energy source and an optimistic vision of the future that rejects climate doomerism, while the "punk" refers to do it yourself and the countercultural, post-capitalist, and decolonial aspects of creating such a future.

We spent a good #Saturday ๐งน with the residents of Gelan Gura. As Kubik, Inc. we have been able to make plastic waste a resource by creating awareness among SMEs.

Climate change is not just an environmental issue, it's a call to action for everyone.
Small steps like reducing waste, conserving energy, and planting trees can lead to big impacts.
Together, we can build a sustainable future.

๐๐ฒ๐๏ธ A Smart Sustainable City is a city that has developed technological infrastructure to support environmentally sustainable operations aiming to address urban challenges, improve quality of life, and build climate resilience.
๐ก๐ A smart city utilizes information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as AI and IoT to collect and analyze data from various sources, optimizing infrastructure, traffic flow, air quality, and waste management.
๐๏ธ๐ป Smart city technologies include IoT, AI, smart grids, 5G and 6G mobile networks, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), machine-to-machine (M2M), and robotics such as robots, drones, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
๐๐ฆ๐ Smart city applications include remote monitoring, traffic management, public safety and security, waste management, smart grids, emission monitoring, EVs, renewable energy, and public transport.
๐๐๐ Smart city implementation steps are (1) utilization of ICTs (2) development of automation and control infrastructure (3) development of urban mobility and sustainable public transport (4) development of an efficient urban plan (5) optimization of waste management and recycling (6) improvement of environmental sustainability and climate resilience (7) raising awareness for the social environment (8) application of technology to education and health (9) ensuring transparency between government and residents and (10) allowing open access to data.
โป๏ธ๐๏ธโ
There are environmental, social, and economic benefits of smart city adoption, such as emissions and pollution reduction, health and wellbeing improvements, and new job creation for local residents.
โป๏ธ๐๏ธโ However, there are challenges (barriers) to smart city adoption, such as privacy issues, vulnerability to cyberattacks, poor connectivity and network coverage, a lack of digital talent to set up complex digital systems, and the high cost of cutting-edge equipment requiring costly service and updates.
