Jewish Democrats are hopeful today that with U.S. funding to Israel ending and AIPAC politically diminished and no longer funding candidates, the hatred will stop.
Here in Canada we have no AIPAC equivalent, and our funding to Israel is insignificant.
The hatred is worse.

My family escaped a brutal Islamic dictatorship.
Never in my life did I imagine that Americans would one day elect those who not only refuse to call out Islamic terrorism, but also openly praise Allah, in Arabic, in a political speech.
This is what an invasion looks like.

It is absolutely demented that one of the reasons Republicans believe they lost the election is because voters wanted “change our relationship to Israel.”
Not because that might not be true, but because America’s strategic partnership with a loyal democratic ally like Israel should not be a subject of political obsession. Especially not when it is the only ally fighting wing to wing with American forces.
We are not the cause of any of your problems. It is impossible to separate any of this from the multi billion dollar disinformation war waged by adversaries of the West to separate America from its ally—and from a history of scapegoating.
Nothing about this present psychotic moment makes sense outside those two contexts.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up.
So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us."
Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.
There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true.
But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone.
Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:
1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel
Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.)
In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you.
The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest.
But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.
I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

I want to talk to my pro-Israel friends really directly. El-Sayed winning is a disaster, just like Mamdani. There’s no way to sugarcoat that.
But it’s so much worse.
CAIR and the Islamists are producing their own red-green alliance to have hundreds of Mamdanis running for office at the state and local level.
The good news is moderate Democrats won last night. Pro-Israel Democrats won last night. This was not a DSA win. This was a repudiation of Trump and his focus on culture war over actually governing.
There are no shortcuts available here.
We’re gonna have to do the hard long-term work of exposing these Jew haters and their anti-American ideology and making sure they don’t get elected.
The way I see it, we have sixteen months to save the Democratic Party. If the progressive message wins, and the Democratic Party becomes synonymous with anti-Americanism - your fears will come true.
But last night showed the American people don’t want the DSA agenda. This battle is winnable.
Take a day or two to mourn, and then we’ll regroup and get back to work.

Eleven million abortions. Six decades. Countless stories of grief and loss that deserve to be heard.
Since Britain's Abortion Act received Royal Assent 59 years ago, the number of abortions has surpassed eleven million. Women who grieve are still denied a voice.
@daisymaeinglese on the trauma behind the numbers, and why we can't restore a culture of life while refusing to acknowledge those who mourn:

🛑In 1969, Lenny Kuhr made the Netherlands proud by winning Eurovision. Nearly 60 years later, the Jewish singer is leaving her homeland for Israel.
After canceled concerts and even death threats, Kuhr, now 76, has arrived in Israel with her husband to begin a new chapter.
She once stood on Europe’s biggest stage representing the Netherlands. Today, she is leaving behind the country she brought international recognition to.
That contrast tells a painful story about antisemitism in Europe.

The "Islamic golden age of science" was actually the Persian golden age of science.
Wow.

How does a human rights activist who once fought against Communism become a violent Red Guard?
Her father came to America seeking freedom from the oppressive Chinese Communist regime. She joined him in raising awareness of the persecution of Mongolians in China.
Then she went to college, where her professors convinced her that she, too, was a victim—alongside other minorities such as Al-Sayed—in a country that is supposedly systematically racist.
For a young mind, the ideological transformation wasn’t difficult.
Her story is not unique. It is a pattern repeated among Chinese American families, as children who grew up with the benefits of American freedom become foot soldiers of Marxist woke ideology.
That is the power—and the magic—of victimology.

Somebody help me understand this, because what I’m hearing is complete and total disdain for American culture.
First of all, I’m genuinely sorry that his parents never showed up for his games, but that’s no reason to tear down another man because his did.
Showing up for our children is part of American culture. We fill the bleachers, wear their numbers, and celebrate their accomplishments, even when they’re riding the pine. That’s what proud parents do.
And that “type” of mom he’s mocking? That’s an American mom. She wears her son’s jersey, cheers until she’s hoarse, and celebrates him win or lose, whether he’s the star player or gets minimal playing time. What’s disturbing is that he sees unconditional parental love and encouragement as something worthy of ridicule.
This has absolutely nothing to do with being a brown kid. If he grew up feeling like he was never enough, that’s something he needs to unpack with a therapist, not project onto another man and his family on a podcast.
And frankly, if his understanding of American culture is so warped that he openly ridicules one of its most recognizable family traditions, I have serious concerns about him being anywhere near a position of power in this country. We need leaders who understand and respect the people they’re supposed to represent, not people who sneer at the way American families raise and support their children.
He feels sorry for Pete Hegseth?
Sir, I pity you. 😞

I bought a hat with some Hebrew text on it.
In thirty minutes of wearing it in public, I've had two people come up and challenge me about the hat, asking what language it was and then glaring at me when I said Hebrew.
I'm not Jewish.
I don't like living in a world with ethnic hatred. This is bullshit, and it has to be pushed back against. You can have whatever feelings you want about a war on the other side of the world, but hating someone here because of what language you think they speak is disgusting.
