🛑Former Hamas hostage Avinatan Or recounts what one of his Hamas captors told him just before his release: “Go home. Say hello to your father, to your mother. Meet your friends. Then pack a bag and go to Europe. You know why? Because we’re going to do October 7 again. As long as there is one Jew in the Land of Israel, we will massacre you again and again and again.” Avinatan looked at him and answered: “I’m not leaving.” Three years after October 7, listen carefully to those words. This is what Hamas told an Israeli hostage after more than two years in captivity. And Avinatan’s answer says everything: This is our home. We are not leaving Credit : @Uvda_tweet

🛑Disgraceful scenes from Colombia. Colombian rapper Chelo Hop deliberately stepped on the Israeli flag during her performance at the Hip Hop al Parque festival in Bogotá, shouting “Free Palestine” as the crowd watched. This is what happens when hatred of Israel becomes a public spectacle, celebrated as entertainment. Disrespecting an entire nation and its flag is not an act of courage. I woke up to Bill Ackman arguing that Israel’s next government should exclude Ben-Gvir and Smotrich. He said they have caused enormous reputational damage, and that a coalition without them would help Israel “turn a new page,” rebuild credibility, expand the Abraham Accords, and improve relations with Democrats, Republicans, and Americans at large. Meanwhile, I also woke up to a Rebellion PAC ad supporting Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan that depicts a couple at the grocery store unable to buy eggs and bananas because U.S. tax dollars are being used for Israel. Of course, I would prefer to see Ben-Gvir and Smotrich out of Israeli politics. But I’m not Israeli, and who governs Israel is a decision for Israelis. At the same time, anyone who thinks removing these two nut jobs will restore Israel’s standing with the American progressive left is erring profoundly. Hostility toward Israel in progressive circles is not simply a reaction to Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, or Smotrich. There is a deeply entrenched and increasingly organized anti-Israel movement inside American progressive politics, including the DSA and unhinged ideologues like Linda Sarsour. This movement does not merely oppose Israeli government policy. Its most radical elements oppose the very legitimacy of a Jewish state. And no amount of coalition reshuffling in Jerusalem will satisfy people whose fundamental objection is Israel’s existence. The Democratic Party has a serious antisemitism problem. And pretending the problem can be solved by rearranging Israel’s coalition is wishful thinking. Israelis should choose their government based on what is best for Israel’s security and interests, not on the hope of temporarily appeasing American political activists whose core objection is the existence of their very country.
I said I wasn’t going to weigh in on who should be prime minister of Israel as that is a decision for Israeli citizens. I did, however, want to share one point of view from the perspective of someone who has an understanding of how Israel is perceived in America. Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich have caused Israel enormous reputational damage with their statements and actions which are presented in the global media as representing the voice and will of all Israelis. As such, a government formed without Ben-Gvir and Smotrich will send a message to the rest of the world that Israel is turning a new page. This will allow Israel to rebuild lost credibility, increase the opportunity for an expansion of the Abraham Accords, and enjoy a better relationship with Democrats and Republicans and Americans at large.

🛑The BBC has agreed to pay £400,000 to Jewish documentary producer Lucie Kon, who says she faced antisemitism at the broadcaster after October 7. Kon, who worked at the BBC for 22 years, says colleagues called Zionists “evil,” demanded that she equate Israel with Hamas, and told her she was too biased as a Jew to oversee a documentary about October 7. After filing a formal complaint, she says she was sidelined and eventually lost her job. The BBC settled without admitting liability or formally apologizing. Israel cannot afford to confuse international approval with national security. Nor can it afford to ignore the impact of its international standing on that very security. Both realities matter. Neither can be wished away.

One of the interesting figures running in Israel’s elections tomorrow is Dr. Einat Wilf. A former Labor Party member of the Knesset, author and political thinker, Wilf has become a prominent voice in international debates about Israel, Zionism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Known for her direct and often thought-provoking arguments, she is now seeking a return to the Knesset as part of the electoral list led by Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha. @EinatWilf Photo: Marc Israel Sellem / The Jerusalem Post

President Donald Trump issued another endorsement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, roughly 30 hours before polls open in Israel. Trump highlights their joint military operations against Iran, praises Netanyahu as an “outstanding Warrior Prime Minister,” and explicitly calls on Israelis to vote for him. “We have to finish the job that we started!” Israelis head to the polls tomorrow morning, Tuesday, October 27.

It’s official! 17-year-old Israeli midfielder Orian Goren has been named in Barcelona's squad for tonight's El Clásico against Real Madrid. Wow!!!! What a moment for the young Israeli player🇮🇱⚽️ Good Luck Orian 🤍
🛑An Israeli teenager could be heading to El Clásico! According to reports in Spain, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is planning to include 17-year-old Israeli midfielder Orian Goren in the squad for Sunday’s clash against Real Madrid. Goren, born in Israel, has impressed Barcelona’s coaching staff, with his playing style even drawing comparisons to Pedri. If confirmed, this would be his first official call-up to Barcelona’s senior squad. An incredible moment for Israeli football! 🇮🇱 Photo Credit : FC Barcelona

Arrest them all. If you allow attacks on police to normalize, you get continued escalating criminal behavior. Law and order.
🇫🇷 In Montpellier, rioters tried to storm a police cordon with homemade barricades made from stolen shopping carts. The assault failed, and police detained several of them.

🛑Barack Obama delivered a blistering attack on Trump over the war with Iran, focusing on American casualties, rising prices and the Strait of Hormuz. But there is another side to this story that deserves just as much attention. For decades, the Iranian regime has funded and armed Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and other militant groups. Its network has threatened Israel, attacked American interests and endangered international shipping. The threat extends far beyond Israel. It affects American forces, regional security and global trade. Trump’s decisions and the costs of this war deserve scrutiny. So does the regime whose actions helped create the security crisis in the first place. Any serious accounting of this war must include both.
