My dad is now living with me and it has been a real eye opener as to how hard the modern world has become for the elderly. He is a highly intelligent man, fully switched on and yet he's seemingly faced with tech roadblocks with everything he tries to do. How anyone living alone

I'm going to just vent here. This is unfair for Senior Citizens. You can't expect Seniors who are not up to speed with technology nor want to learn it, to be forced to use it. You can't check in to the doctors office without your cell phone, can't get access to test results without your phone, can't shop at the grocery store for sales or deals without your phone, can't get tickets to events without your phone. Some bills can only be paid online. It's sickening and unfair and I can only imagine how stressful and isolated our Senior population feels. Do better, world. It is not about them needing to keep up, but allowing for a gentler and familiar options.

I am married with a young daughter, both myself and my husband work. -We are not entitled to housing benefit, or any other benefit for that matter. -We do not get free eye tests, free dental care or free prescriptions. -Our daughter is not entitled to free school meals, or free breakfast clubs, or free wrap around care, no help with her uniform. -We don’t get council tax discount, or any other discount. -We don’t get help with our energy bills, or low cost broadband. -We don’t get help with the cost of going to the cinema, or days out at theme parks. -My daughter is unable to play outside unsupervised, because you have failed to secure our borders and the streets aren’t safe. -If I work more hours, I fall into the higher tax band. Why should someone like me, vote for someone like you? @UKLabour @andyburnham What are you offering my family?

Right then … as Ross Clark points out, the claim that 2,700 people were killed by the heat is bollocks. (Technical term) It was presented as an actual death toll. It wasn’t. It was a modelling exercise and er.… not actual mortality UKHSA found NO excess mortality during the May heatwave. And in the 2 published ONS weeks covering most of June’s heatwave, death registrations were actually 918 BELOW expected. But the hysterical headlines pushed the narrative as if it was fact. As always, question everything.

There is now a serious, well-funded plan to vaccinate every cow on earth, twice a year, so it burps less politely. Bill Gates is behind it. So is the New Zealand government. Somewhere a marketing department is very proud. The company furthest along calls its methane vaccine the holy grail of livestock emissions, a phrase that should make you reach for your wallet and check it is still there. The pitch is gloriously simple. Train the cow's own immune system to turn on the microbes in her gut, so she belches less methane, with a single jab lasting months. Early results suggest a cut of ten to fifteen per cent. Trials run through 2027, launch around 2030, by which point the dream is a needle in the neck of every cow they can corner. Pause on that. Not a feed tweak. A plan to medicate an entire species, forever, across the whole planet, to fix a problem with how we count its burps. Because methane from a steady herd cycles out of the air within about a decade. It does not pile up like fossil carbon. A stable national herd adds no new warming whatsoever, whatever the headlines shriek. The cow was convicted by an accounting method, and the sentence is a lifetime of injections. And follow the money, because it does the confessing for you. The cash floods in from billionaire climate funds and the food giants chasing their own supply-chain targets, the very people who need the cow to look guilty so their spreadsheets come out green. Not a penny from the farmer, who just inherits the syringe and the bill. So the grass-fed cow, quietly turning rain and sunshine into food on land that grows nothing else, is now a wellness patient with a biannual appointment. Marvellous. The cow was never the emergency. The people insisting she is just happen to have a vaccine to sell.

Dear @EnvAgency. In February this year, after 4 years of asking you to look after the Aldersbrook, I led a team of volunteers to do your job for you & clean out tonnes of silt & leaves, as well as hundreds of bags of rubbish. Through the effort of community volunteers & donations, & at zero cost to the taxpayer, we turned a forgotten silted up ditch back into a river again. Last nights intense rain storm showed why our actions are the very definition of “strengthening water resilience”. A huge amount of rain fell in a short time, but the restored section of the Aldersbrook has been able to hold 100’s of thousands of litres more water, stopping this water running into the Roding, & thereby *reducing* local flood risk. The first photograph below is of the Aldersbrook after the rains this morning- a big contrast to the area before we did the work. Perhaps more importantly, this water, instead of running straight off into the Roding & hence the sea is now being held in the Aldersbrook & gradually released so it can be used by nature. It is feeding marshes, trees & wildlife, topping up groundwater & helping to reduce our flood/drought cycle. If you want to strengthen water resilience, we need thousands more projects like the Aldersbrook around the country. So the question I ask you, Environment Agency, is why you are threatening me with two years imprisonment, rather than offering to meet & discuss how we can work together to restore the Roding & its tributaries, which could become a blueprint for you cooperating with local river guardians nationwide?
Today marks 50 years since the last severe drought in the UK. We must continue to evolve to meet future water supply challenges. By working together across the sector, we can strengthen water resilience for the future. Read more: gov.uk/government/speeches/f…

No normal shocked family sounds like this. This is panicking, stop the natives revolting, crisis-management speak. Shame on the state for putting words in the mouth of people whose loved one was almost beheaded.

Nobody believes a word you say - you've been to found to lie constantly The PREVIOUS record was set in 1922. That’s 104 years ago Before SUVs, private jets, Heathrow Airport etc etc Plus these days they use temp Stations that once were in open fields and now surrounded by buildings Or they use temp recordings from next to runways tarmac or solar fields And they use ground source temp rather than air Yes it's very warm Record breaking? Hotter than Roman times? Medieval times? The times of Jesus? Prehistoric? Likely not

Wow. The Government has officially admitted to me that through the 'Government Communication Service' it 'collects, stores, and processes data from public social media posts.' Why? 'to address potential mis/disinformation.' They are using AI for 'information environment analysis'. Posts about migration are included as part of 'wider thematic reporting'. They 'share aggregate social media analysis with partner governments'. Strange, isn't it? Why would that be needed? Your rights. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data, you have the right to request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed, you have the right in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted. How? Email the Data Protection Officer. [email protected] I've made an objection, and an official request. I suggest you do the same. Share this to get the word out there...

Hats off to whoever wrote this! EMPLOYEE NOTICE Due to the current financial situation caused by the fuel crisis and the slowdown in the economy, the Government has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early). Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to the Government to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination). Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the Government deems appropriate. Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the Government. Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. The Government has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your MP, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle. Sincerely, The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.) PS - Due to the Virus, recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Sweden is committing more than €100 million to a sweeping classroom overhaul: replacing tablets and screens with traditional printed textbooks to help reverse falling student performance and sharpen focus. After more than a decade of embracing digital-first education, Swedish authorities are now pivoting back to paper-based learning. Official data and recent studies cited by the Ministry of Education show that prolonged screen use in class has been linked to shorter attention spans, weaker reading comprehension, and reduced critical-thinking abilities. Research consistently finds that reading on illuminated screens requires greater mental effort and invites more distractions compared to the calm, linear experience of physical books—factors believed to have contributed to declining academic outcomes in recent years. Under the new plan, every student will receive printed textbooks for all core subjects, restoring books as the central learning tool. Digital devices and online resources will remain available as supportive tools, but they will no longer dominate daily instruction. This bold €100+ million investment signals Sweden’s leadership in rethinking the role of technology in education. It underscores a broader, growing recognition worldwide: while screens provide speed and access, the hands-on, distraction-free engagement of physical books supports deeper concentration, stronger memory retention, and more effective long-term learning. By choosing paper over pixels, Sweden is charting a path toward a more balanced, evidence-informed classroom future—one that puts proven pedagogical principles ahead of unchecked digital trends.

Here are some interesting information about dandelion. 🌼🌼🌼 With its deep taproot, it helps loosen compacted soil and brings up minerals that enrich the ground naturally. Every part of the plant is edible: young leaves are packed with vitamin K and other nutrients, the root is rich in prebiotic inulin and can be roasted as a caffeine-free coffee substitute, and the flowers are full of antioxidants and can be made into syrup or wine. Dandelions were intentionally brought to North America for food and medicine. They are also vital for pollinators, providing one of the first food sources in early spring. Their seeds travel efficiently on delicate parachutes, and many reproduce clonally, ensuring strong survival. Rather than a lawn enemy, the dandelion is a pioneer plant, a soil healer, and a free, resilient gift from nature.

Public institutions rely on trust. Trust relies on transparency. Transparency relies on record. But what happens when the very act of recording determines whether justice can ever begin? Over the past four years, official disclosures, court filings and internal communications have revealed something deeply uncomfortable: A system in which • complaints may be rejected rather than recorded, • recording determines investigation, investigation determines prosecution, • and prosecution determines whether a court ever sees the facts at all. If nothing is recorded, nothing exists. If nothing exists, nothing can be tested. If nothing can be tested, the law never engages. The result is a constitutional paradox: Judicial oversight depends on visibility, yet visibility itself can be administratively controlled upstream. This is not an allegation. It is a structural problem and structural problems require careful, evidential examination - not rhetoric. In these early hours, I am publishing a full public report and exposé: “The Point of Judicial Paradox” A forensic, document-led analysis based solely on: • court orders • police disclosures • NPCC communications • statutory frameworks • and the evidential record No speculation. No accusations. Only facts, chronology and constitutional reasoning. The question is simple: If the courts can only judge what they are permitted to see, who guards the gate? Read the report here: ethicalapproach.co.uk/the_po… We must diligently accept and remember that transparency is not confrontation, but is the first duty of a free society.
