It is heartening to witness the spirit of sportsmanship at the 1st Inter-Collegiate Staff Badminton Tournament for teaching and non-teaching staff of colleges affiliated with Goa University, held at the Indoor Sports Complex, Ponda, for the academic year 2024-25. Organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports of Ponda Education Society, the event was graced by the presence of Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, the Dean of @GoaGmc, further adding to the enthusiasm and motivation of all participants. I am happy to announce that we have created a team under the leadership of Dean @GoaGmc Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, to bring in more efficiency and professionalism in GMC. We have appointed Dr. Rajesh Patil, a prominent and efficient doctor, as the medical superintendent of GMC. In addition, we have appointed Dr. Uday Kakodkar as the medical superintendent and administrative head of the superspeciality block. With the combined efforts of the Dean, and the newly appointed superintendents we will be in a position to provide enhanced services to the people to establish a world-class institution. A lot needs to work on, but I am confident that with the dedicated leadership of Dr. Bandekar, newly appointed superintendents, the expertise of the HODs, and the senior consultants, we will have the vision to create a unique healthcare model in Goa. It is no doubt that GMC, with their excellent doctors, have been doing a commendable job in providing health care to the people. The addition of a small team under Dean Dr. Bandekar and the delegation of responsibilities to various HODs will help us establish an autonomous body showcasing a promising step towards enhancing GMC's effectiveness. By implementing systems for accountability, GMC will be more poised to meet the expectations of the people of Goa and become a premier institution every Goan can look up to.

Launched the “District Residency Program” & Family Adoption Program". A proud feeling to have inaugurated both these National Medical Commission mandated programs. Incidentally, these Programs were mentioned by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi in #MannKiBaat address last month.

I'd like to congratulate the Dean of @GoaGmc and his academic team on this accomplishment. The PG courses listed above are the most privileged because they are only available in a few centres and medical colleges across the country, including AIIMS.

Under the ADIP scheme of the Government of India, two children who were born deaf underwent unilateral "cochlear implant surgery" at @GoaGmc’s Department of ENT. To date, the ENT department has performed cochlear implant surgery on 13 children.

Inaugurated the #Haemophilia Treatment Centre at @GoaGmc During my interaction with doctors from KEM, we discussed possibility of signing an MoU to ensure patients with haemophilia receive the necessary care and treatment. We will proceed after developing a comprehensive plan.
