One of San Francisco's largest redevelopment projects could completely transform nearly 19 acres of land near Downtown. Plans are moving forward for the redevelopment of the Caltrain Railyards at 4th and King in SoMa. The project could include: • Up to 5,834 apartments • Up to 5.6 million SF of commercial space • 160,000+ SF of retail • A completely rebuilt Caltrain station • More than 4 acres of public open space • Multiple skyscrapers reaching 350 to 600 feet • A potential 850-foot tower This land is currently occupied by railroad tracks, platforms, maintenance facilities and the existing Caltrain station. The proposal would modernize the transit infrastructure, relocate train storage and maintenance, and create an entirely new mixed-use neighborhood above and around the station. Thousands of people could be living, working, shopping and spending time in what is currently a massive rail yard. And all directly connected to one of the Bay Area's most important transit corridors. The project is now entering environmental review, with construction potentially starting in 2029 and taking 15 to 20 years to complete.... There's obviously a long road ahead, but I love seeing developers think this big about underutilized urban land. This could completely reshape SF. 📍San Francisco

Thank you @GovKathyHochul! This proposed crosstown subway expansion across 125th Street will be transformative for Harlem, connecting riders to 7 subway lines, the express bus to LGA, and Metro-North.
Excited yet? Governor Hochul provided $50 million to fund the early stages of this work — and secured historic changes to state law to allow it to move forward faster. That’s real leadership for uptown.

“For a community of 20,000 to produce so many units of affordable housing over the course of five years is unprecedented in CA, much less the nation." Learn how Oroville is delivering housing for its community and displaced Camp Fire residents. 🏘️ westerncity.com/article/what…

UK considering opening up international High Speed Rail access to East London passenger rail hub.
Stratford is one of London's best-connected transport hubs. Adding international rail services would take that connectivity even further, linking East London and beyond directly to Europe while supporting jobs, tourism and growth.

The symbiotic relationship between offices, housing, mass transport and economic growth
Metro is quietly expanding by building new entrances at existing stations. The furthest along is Crystal City, where a $146 million second entrance is under construction at the northwest corner of 18th Street South and Crystal Drive: • Opening in 2027 • New mezzanine • Three new elevators • Direct access from Crystal Drive • Easier transfers to VRE and Metroway These projects expand each station’s walkshed, shorten trips and put thousands more residents and jobs within easy reach of Metro...all without laying a single mile of new track. Which station should get another entrance next?
