Almost without fail my support of international football teams is the kiss of death. I won’t admit to watching every men and women’s World Cup (I’m a very basic fan) but when I do my team almost always loses in embarrassing or heart wrenching fashion.
-2105: Didn’t watch and USWNT won it all
-2018: switch my allegiances to the German Men’s National team (married a German citizen so it’s legit) for them to not advance out of group play
-2019: Didn’t watch again. Another USWNT win
-2022: Germans lose in group play again

I've talked about this quite a bit on @FrontOfficeShow, but it's worth repeating in light of some recent stuff out there with Jaylen Brown:
-Can't get a no-trade clause. Not eligible for one.
-Can't include multiple option years.
-Can't put an option in the middle of the deal.
Actually nothing can be learned here because it’s been 3 summer league games. The internet is a crazy place.
Replying to @deanondraft
Pre-draft I rated them in a similar tier. Was reasonable to give Bilal an edge, but they aren't too far apart. A couple of important lessons can be learned here:
1) Trading down is typically sharper than trading up
2) French guys are often overhyped

Keep an eye out for the new Anta-Semitics.
Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving has signed a five-year endorsement deal with Chinese sportswear brand ANTA, plus the unique position of Chief Creative Officer at the company, industry sources told @TheAthletic @Stadium. Irving’s management company, A11Even, negotiated the deal.

Dalano Banton just told me he’s playing tomorrow for the #Celtics. He practiced this afternoon after missing the first two games with a finger injury
Which of those players who are both much better than him is he in this scenario?
There is a lot more action still to come this NBA offseason, but let’s take a moment to review some of the more impressive maneuvers thus far: highofftheglass.substack.com…
For the record I very much do not like this Grant Williams sign and trade and think the Celtics should have ponied up to keep him (reserving the right to change my mind if this is a precursor to additional moves)
Biased because he got the Cs their only ring of my lifetime, but feels like KG is a no-brainer. He’s possibly the best defensive player ever and was really good offensively too.
