Pretty remarkable letter, this, in the circumstances 👇
Reuma Kedem is the mother of Tamar Kedem Siman Tov, who was murdered with her husband Jon and their three children in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Three years later, she wrote an open letter to Gadi Eisenkot. I translated it from Hebrew and am sharing it in full. Dear Gadi Eisenkot, I am Reuma Kedem, mother of Tamar Kedem Siman Tov, who was murdered with her husband Jon and their three children at Kibbutz Nir Oz. (You visited their house, burned to the ground.) I am writing to you from a broken heart. The pain is infinite and the heart is burning. But we have turned toward repair. I am asking in every possible way: we want life. You have 67 seats in the Knesset of the state's citizens, and also a bloc of Haredim. Extend them a hand. Help them integrate into the state. It is in your hands to fix whatever can be fixed. Welfare, education, health, economy. Do not deepen the hatred, the division and the incitement. Dear Gadi, we lost everything. Our home was destroyed. My children and grandchildren were murdered. Three years later, the government of malice and death still will not release its grip on our lives. My daughter Tamar was a courageous leader with every fiber of her being, who strove for the common, united good. I trust you, and I hope you will be as creative as she was and find the way. Do not fall for populism. Do not fall for political spin. This is the time for courageous leadership. I am with you. Let us be worthy. With great love, Reuma @KedemReuma

"Where does it end?" Andreas Malm is an academic & one of the world’s leading climate scholars. The Labour govt has just banned him from coming to the UK to speak at a public event and academic conference. Outrageous. And we're still being told that Burnham represents change.

Full solidarity with colleague Prof Andreas Malm, banned from entering the UK for siding with Palestine Action. This is outrageous. He is one of the best and most principled academics. @andyburnham please reverse immediately. I stand with both Palestine Action and Andreas.

Then-US antisemitism envoy Lipstadt has personally taken credit for pushing Australia to set up its antisemitism patrol to stomp out criticism of Israel. This is from US State Department document "Global Action to Combat Antisemitism Under Ambassador Deborah E. Lipstadt, Ph.D.":

Name-calling human rights defenders is a tactic of abusive power: ignore-mock- insult. Each step admits they've no answer, they are exposed. Never feel alone in the fight for justice. Lets stand up, everywhere. Let them count how many we are. No one is safe until everyone is safe
The US response to my UN report fails to refute any of my legal findings that the US has murdered 244 civilians at sea. Instead it resorts to childish name-calling. I’m obviously not a terrorist sympathizer - but the US is committing extrajudicial killings ohchr.org/sites/default/file…

Benjamin Moser is brilliant.
⭕️ Pulitzer Prize winner Benjamin Moser: “The more I studied Zionism, the more I spent time there, the more I realized that every inch of Israel is Palestine. It was always Palestine. Jews were never not allowed to live there as equal citizens, as they are in Britain or any other Western country. But the establishment of this state really did mean this massive ethnic cleansing that was not just a one-off.”

Anywhoo, if you fancy reading 40 pages (minus 12 pages of pretty pictures) of unsourced conjecture being presented as irrefutable fact, which will then be used to attempt to significantly alter your way of life throughout most of Australian society, then here's the link: 👇🏽 aseca.gov.au/sites/default/f…

Next is Segal presuming to analyse the "drivers" or the sources of her alleged rise in antisemitism - this is indeed what all of this is about, is it not? At last Australians will get to see what one of the core drivers is in the alleged rise in 'antisemitism' - namely, Israel's horrific and never-ending attacks on Palestinians and Israel's increasing interference in the democracies of the world and their attempt to dominate and infiltrate our every day discourse. Nope. Not a word. Despite Israel being constantly and conveniently conflated and transposed with Jewishness throughout the report, any mention of Israel the nation state's actions are strangely absent from any alleged drivers of antisemitism. It's as if the revulsion towards Israel's actions and the world's rising antagonism towards Israel has just floated down out of the sky inside a magic bubble, completely disconnected from any actions of Israel itself. Rather, antisemitism's alleged rise is dumped at the feet of 'progressives' and other nasty human rights advocates - the very last people to be identifying with racism of any kind. As usual, Segal has provided no evidence of her claims, no citations, no independent assessment other than her feelpinions and drawing upon a statement ASIO's Mike Burgess made about violent extremists (which was NOT a statement about progressives being responsible for antisemitism) to justify her outrageous claim that it is somehow progressives who are responsible for the hatred and drivers of antisemitism - not Israel itself. .

Here's just one example. Under the heading of Islamic Extremism, Segal claims that AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett "declared" the statement below. The quote attributed to Krissy Barrett ('Krissy Barrett declared') even has a footnote. As you'll see, citation 3 sends us off to an article in the Australian by Greg Brown on Oct 8, 2026. I read that article and I could not find a direct quote anywhere from Krissy Barrett declaring those words attributed to her. Those words are the words of the journalist, Greg Brown editorialising Ms Barrett. theaustralian.com.au/nation/… The journalist has included a great deal of direct quotes from Ms Barrett in the article, but no quotes of hers that declare, "Islamic fundamentalism would continue to be the biggest terror risk over the next year, and that the local threat from Hamas supporters was not declining." Rather the 'quote' is from the words of the journalist, Greg Brown of the Australian - it is not a direct quote or declaration from the AFP's Krissy Barrett. .

It says a lot about this country that we focus on people who are on £11k a year, rather than the super-rich. Now is the time to ramp up pressure to make sure people with obscene levels of money pay their fair share.

I've been reading through this, which was released today, and let me tell you - it is a hot mess. Jillian Segal (well let's face it, the taxpayer-funded team who work for her) has delivered a line of limited thinking that aims to insert itself into every aspect of Australian life - with no peer review, or any form of independent assessment. We are expected to simply take the Antisemitism Envoy at their word and shut up. As usual, it presents as a wandering discourse of unevidenced claims, taking particular aim at the increasing dissatisfaction with Israel by most of the western world and hiding it within the cloak of 'antisemitism' - a word tossed about freely throughout the document, a word that underwrites the document and all it's radical thought-policing, but a word that they fail to provide with any concrete definition or cohesive meaning. .

Special Envoy Jillian Segal’s latest report is a dangerous and ideologically driven roadmap that threatens freedom of speech, academic freedom and democratic rights, while failing to meaningfully address the root causes of antisemitism. Our release: jewishcouncil.com.au/2026/10…
