ISRAEL IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. GET OVER IT! 🇮🇱 Stop moping around. Stop throwing tantrums. Israel exists, and no amount of screaming, boycotting, or social media outrage is going to erase it. And to the basement dwellers having a complete meltdown because I am both Muslim and Zionist, here's a message for you: I COULDN'T CARE LESS! I don't need your permission to be Muslim. I don't need your approval to stand with Israel. And I certainly don't owe anyone an apology for standing with my Jewish brothers and sisters. You can insult me, label me, attack my faith, or try to silence me. None of it will change my convictions. My faith is not yours to police. My conscience is not yours to control. I AM MUSLIM. I AM ZIONIST. AND I AM NOT BACKING DOWN. Get used to it. Mansoor Laghari #MuslimZionist #Israel #StandWithIsrael #JewishMuslimUnity #FightAntisemitism #MansoorLaghari

Missing some context here. There was, in fact, a political party in Israel that long embraced the possibility of a Palestinian state. That was the Labor Party. But then the second intifada happened, the Palestinian Authority abandoned any pretense of democracy, and Hamas was elected in Gaza, killed off the opposition — and then, well, attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, murdering more than 1,200. Had the Palestinians, at any step along the way, accepted the Jewish state, and embraced self-rule, they would, no doubt, be in a very different place today. They might even have a state. But because Palestinians can’t push past their hatred of Israel, because so many of their “supporters” insist on viewing them as toddlers and encourage that hatred (financially and otherwise), they remain confined to a quasi-permanent liminality. Which is awful for Palestinians but very useful for those who wish to use them as a cudgel with which to bludgeon Israel.
This is true. Except for the Arab parties, nearly all of Israel’s factions agree on one thing: opposing a Palestinian state. The problem isn’t just about Netanyahu. That’s always been a cop-out to distract from a much deeper problem at the core of the contemporary Israel state.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people. Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent! But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest. You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful. Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway. This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

Sloan, you're a bigoted Jew hating jackass. You don't get to say "leave the party" and tell Jews what they don't know Judaism and then say "my intent is not to hurt" and "can't we all just get along" Go fuck yourself you ignorant bitch.

So @academic_la did not go back to vote in Israel as he swore he would. Why not? But he’s tweeting about Abdul El Sayed. Is he going to return the GoFundMe money he raised for his plane ticket and “legal fees”?

I AM A MUSLIM. I AM A ZIONIST. AND I MAKE NO APOLOGIES! This message is for those who seem to get stomach pains every time I declare myself a Muslim Zionist. Those who endlessly question my beliefs, challenge my identity, and desperately try to prove that a Muslim cannot be a Zionist. Let me make myself absolutely clear. I proudly support Israel. I fully support the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and their mission to defend Israel and protect its citizens. I support the fight against Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and every radical Islamist terrorist organization threatening Israel and the free world. I have lived under Islamic extremism. I know what these ideologies do to societies, minorities, women, and freedom. My Islam does not command me to hate Jews. My conscience does not permit me to excuse terrorism. I don't need anyone's permission to be a Zionist. I don't need lectures about my own religion. STOP TRYING TO CONVERT ME TO YOUR POLITICAL BELIEFS. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. I stand with Israel, the Jewish people, and the IDF. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Unapologetically. I am not asking for your approval. I am telling you where I stand. END OF DISCUSSION. FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%. FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours. Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis. Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

Hey @grok. Which 20th-century political party most prominently claimed its people were suffering because an out-group was draining national resources and harming them?
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

Replying to @CubsWorld80
Annual U.S. aid to Israel amounts to roughly: - 0.05% of total U.S. federal spending - 0.22% of federal healthcare spending - 8% of conventional U.S. foreign aid - about 5% if you define foreign aid more broadly to include the cost of stationing U.S. troops overseas But sure, aid to Israel is why you can't afford bananas or eggs - let alone healthcare.
Israel First Mike Rogers’ career is cooked after this Abdul El Sayed ad. This is brilliant.

Israel Is The Ancestral Homeland of the Jews, Not Palestinians Addressing common counter-arguments 1. "Palestinians are closer to ancient Israelites than modern Jews" - Incorrect. Ashkenazi Jews alone trace the majority (roughly 80%) of their Y-lineages to the Levant. They are basically indistinguishable from non-Jewish Levantines on the paternal line. About 40-50% of their maternal lineages (contrary to earlier papers which overestimated European input) are also Levantine. Palestinian paternal lineages are predominantly Peninsular Arab with MRCA estimates dating back to the mid-1st millennium CE which corresponds neatly with waves of Arab invasion and settlement. This is why they cluster with Saudis on most sample-based PCAs. The mtDNA side is more diverse, but the majority of it is decidedly non-Levantine. A Levantine component does exist (particularly among the Christians), but there's no way of proving that any of it comes from actual Jews (Arameans are more likely) and, either way, was almost certainly acquired via forced conversions and sexual violence. You cannot October 7th your way into indigeneity. 2. "But this proximity list I have here says Palestinians are closer to ancient Canaanites" - Because proximity lists are based on population aggregates and genotypal similarity, not shared ancestry. For example, someone who is half-Cherokee and half-Nigerian will chart further away from “Cherokee” than will an Indigenous Siberian or Indigenous Amazonian individual with no Cherokee ancestry whatsoever. To give a more pertinent example: someone who is 75% Arabian and 25% Levantine will chart much closer to “Bronze Age Levantine” than someone who is 75% Levantine and 25% European. Why? Because Arabians and Levantines are neighboring populations. They're genetically much closer to each other than Europeans are to either. Thus, even if a sample is 75% Levantine, that 25% European will strongly pull their plot away from the Levant. On such lists, Ashkenazi groups (i.e. aggregates, not individual samples) will chart closer to Sicilians and Cretan Greeks than non-Jewish Levantines. Does this mean Ashkenazi Jews originate in Italy? No. All it means is they are a similar genetic average when their base components are mixed together — Ashkenazim are Levantines with a South European component on the maternal line, and Sicilians are a largely Roman and Greek-descended population with a significant MENA pull (Phoenician , plus Southern Europeans have retained much more European Neolithic ancestry than other Europeans). That Ashkenazi aggregates may have stronger affinity (that is, similarity) to Sicilians than, say, Lebanese Christians is meaningless in regards to the origin of Ashkenazim as Jews. 3. "But the grandparents and great-grandparents of modern Jews were born in Europe" - Because that's where their ancestors ended up after being driven out of the Middle East. Recent history in Europe does not cancel out or supplant ancestral origins in the Levant. By this logic, Europeans are "indigenous" to Tennessee and the indigenous tribes they displaced are indigenous to their place of exile. On that note, a large portion of Palestinian families can't trace their history in the land back more than 100 years. They arrived with the British mandate. Saeb Erekat, for instance, loves to claim that he is a "Canaanite" despite descending from a Saudi Arab clan that arrived in the 20th century. 4. "Netanyahu's REAL last name is Mileikowsky" - Jews in Europe had European surnames forced on them in the 18th-19th centuries. Before that, they used traditional Hebrew patronyms. Conversely, there is nothing "Israelite" about Palestinian surnames. Nearly all of them pinpoint origins outside of Eretz Yisra'el. 5. "Palestinians are culturally closer to the Israelites than modern Jews" - Jewish language, holidays, folklore, calendar, core cuisine, music, and history all center on the land of Israel. Palestinians speak Arabic, practice Islam (notwithstanding the Christian minority), and are culturally almost indistinguishable from other Arab populations. Their flag uses pan-Arab colors, each one representing a different caliph. And no, dabkeh is not a Canaanite dance. 6. "Jews stole Palestinian Arab cuisine" - Most if not all Levantine cuisine is thousands of years old, predating the Arab conquests. Jews were familiar with these dishes in antiquity and are now returning to them after centuries of exile (to say nothing of Jews who were never exiled and never stopped eating these foods). 7. "Modern Jews look like Europeans" - No. ashkenazijews.net/ TL,DR: Jews are indigenous to Israel and arguments to the contrary are invariably based on sophistry, misinformation, and misreading of data.

Palestinianism is not an ethnicity. It is an invented subset of Arabism, which can be hardly separated from Islam. This means the Arab Muslim ethnicity, with its vast population and land, can make room for 8 million Israeli Jews, concede some land for them to be sovereign. This is especially needed because Arabs/Muslims have proven their inability to treat non-Arabs and non-Muslims as their equals. Not only Jews should get their sovereign state, but also Druze, Christians, Kurds, Alawites. It’s a matter of preserving diversity, which is impossible under Arab/Muslim sovereignty.
Last week, on a panel with my friend @PeterBeinart, I made a point similar to Sohrab's here: the problem with Israel isn't simply its ethnonationalism—such states exist; I pointed to Japan as an example. The problem is that it exists as an ethnonationalist state on top of the Palestinians, on their land, and at their expense.

I’ll take a shot at answering one of these good questions. These poor young people are not dying for "no reason". They’re dying because Vladimir Putin's Russia invaded Ukraine and Ukrainians don’t want to be murdered. I hope this helps.

I’m thrilled to share that my short book will soon be published in Hebrew by Tchelet Books, one of Israel’s leading publishing houses, and will be available digitally and in bookstores within weeks. Hamas: The Enemy of Gaza brings to Israeli readers a Palestinian perspective on the complex reality of life in Gaza under Hamas, challenging the common perception that the group enjoys broad popular support. Blending the story of Hamas’s rise to power with my own experiences and insights, the book offers a concise account of how the terror group became one of the greatest disasters to befall the Palestinian people. It examines the historical, political, regional, religious, and strategic forces that enabled Hamas’s entrenchment, while also highlighting Israeli policies that shaped its trajectory and contributed to the path leading to October 7. I will share details on how to obtain a copy as soon as they become available in Israel. I am also pleased to share that my short book will be translated and published in four additional languages: Greek, Italian, Norwegian, and French, with efforts underway to secure a German publisher. Importantly, with the help of several allies, I am also working to have the book published in Arabic. That effort has proven challenging, as many publishers deem it “too controversial” because of its unequivocal opposition to Hamas’s “resistance” narrative and my argument and declaration that the group is holding Gaza’s Palestinians hostage to its Islamist, jihadist, and ultimately nihilistic ideology and agendas.

Alonso is a perfect example of how anyone with this kind of bio is a leftwing progressive interested only in promoting a singular political narrative and cannot be trusted. He ignores the extremely common, identical palestinian demands to highlight a single, random Israeli with no power. He allows the antisemitic 'indigenous,' dismissal of Jewishness, naturally. All while pretending this particular sentence is somehow damning evidence of horrors beyond his reasoning. (Remember he cited IDF soldiers walking into a mosque with shoes on as evidence of horrific palestinian oppression) The fact palestinians actually murder Jews for a religious cause and actually slaughter thousands over land claims while they actually, actively, brutally commit atrocities towards their own people, is irrelevant to him.
“God promised us this land and we will kill anyone who stays”? That is an ISIS-type ideology.
