The President of the United States is LYING.
Trump: "We didn't start the war with Iran. Iran started the war with us."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The U.S. launched the war on February 28, 2026, with coordinated strikes under the name Operation Epic Fury. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening strikes. Iran retaliated afterward. reuters.com/business/aeros… apnews.com/article/iran-u…

Asylum for white South Africans and failed sketchy Brazilian politicians; but not for people fleeing war and persecution.

And yet it’s Donald Trump who is the convicted felon.
Trump on El-Sayed: He goes by Abdul Ramadan I call him Mohammed. We can’t have these people in the US. He’s going to have to go through a metal detector. We have people that should not be running for politics in this country

It’s truly wild how the only thing they are running on against Abdul is unvarnished racism.
Vance on El-Sayed: We have to understand what happens when our nation gives into these kinds of people with zero attachment to its land or to its history. What we saw in France, the hatred, the ingratitude, the desire to destroy rather than a desire to build, that exact same cancer that has corrupted El-Sayed.

Today we learned that it was a 28-year-old DOGE operative who gutted USAID, and HR had no record of him working there. Totally normal stuff.

Not now honey, accountability and transparency will have to wait until the election is over
Latest: Appeals court pauses trial court order requiring Gov. Greg Abbott to turn over his unredacted communications with Elon Musk to Gina Hinojosa by Thursday. Ruling likely means Hinojosa won't see them until after Nov. 3 election, if at all. #txlege news.bloomberglaw.com/litiga…

Forgive him for not knowing it was the 250th anniversary. He spent July 4 in London with one of his mistresses.
Paxton: On July 4th, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of our country.

The parents of Alex Pretti, who was killed by federal immigration officers in Minneapolis, say the Justice Department is refusing to turn over evidence to state and local officials. “Do your job and stop shielding Alex’s killers,” his father said. wapo.st/4i791FU

At least 18 early voting centers in rural Alaska have not opened as of Friday, state Sen. Bill Wielechowski (D) says. The commonality? All the affected areas have at least a 60% Alaska Native population — with nearly a dozen having Alaska Native populations upwards of 90%: demdock.com/4BnLoAB

Republicans spend years telling everyone, “Trump was just joking! Why can't you take a joke?” Then Obama makes one Cheesecake Factory joke, and they lose their minds for days.

It’s not just that McConnell did not hold a hearing on a Supreme Court vacancy with nearly a year left in a presidential term, he completely shut down circuit court confirmations for Obama’s last two years. This is the McConnell rule, and there is no question Dems should apply it
Why would you call something Mitch McConnell did the Schumer rule 😂. The unwillingness to grapple with the way two court seats were handled by McConnell by anyone on the right is going to lead to total SCOTUS calvinball for the foreseeable future. Cake was baked in 2020.

Wow. Financial Times reports that Trump Jr. went on a Mongolian hunting trip with the Russian businessman who financed his wedding party. The trip was in August, three months after the wedding. ft.com/content/f41fc704-c9e6…

Perhaps people have forgotten or were too young to remember but when conservatives swear to you that Obama was a divisive president, it’s because of stuff like this. He would say the most innocuous thing and we would get days of “Dem elitist” commentary from conservative media and pundits. Again, it’s not lost on me that Obama compared Trump’s taste to that of Saddam Hussein in the same breath, and that Trump literally said he didn’t care about high gas prices the same day, yet none of that broke through. Because perceived threats to white cultural hegemony are actually what most of the last 10 years of politics have been about. It’s the same reason why a Democrat’s career would be over for trashing Toledo, Ohio, why we still talk about Hillary’s “deplorables” gaffe, but Republicans say awful things about America’s largest cities and deny them federal funds and there’s barely a whimper of outrage.
the cheesecake factory discourse a back to the future reminder of what 2008-2016 was like on here. Obama makes funny joke revealing he's like the average American (fluent enough in gaudy chain restaurants to jest about a specific chain). GOPers decide it means he's not #oneofus. This goes on for days...

This is a vote for Trump. As someone who opposed Fetterman in the primary, Turek is absolutely no Fetterman
Leaning toward leaving Senate blank. Not gonna vote for Hinson, obviously, but I'm also not terribly interested in doing my part to add the next Fetterman to the Senate. Best of luck to Josh in finding his mythical moderate republicans.

Much easier for the media to lock in on faux Cheesecake Factory outrage than a House Dem report indicating Todd Blanche basically told Ghislaine Maxwell "stop talking" when she was about to discuss a girl that could more closely tie Trump to Epstein

I guess we're just gonna start doing this in lots of states now? Without any explanation for why -- now that mail ballots are out ... We have suspicions about specific voters?
🚨BREAKING: The Trump administration asked Washington to set aside ballots from around 400 registered voters it claims may be noncitizens. The alarming request comes amid the DOJ's legal effort to compel California to do the same to 20k voters.
