People in Hamilton work to save lives and support each other every day because drug users are neighbours. This decision will have a devastating impact on communities already made marginal by deliberate neglect and overpolicing.

This is a horrible act of Islamophobia in what should be a safe space for learning. We are particularly saddened to be sharing this during Eid, but this reality needs to be addressed in Hamilton. The role of community to refuse racism and keep each other safe is paramount.
Here is an official statement from the Hamilton Downtown Mosque community, where an intruder entered the mosque last Friday afternoon, at the time of a grade 3 gym class, and uttered Islamophobic and racist slurs at students.
This is completely outrageous and unacceptable. We expect every political leader to raise their voice in solidarity and a commitment to take action - now, before more folks get hurt.

The current CPC Candidate for the Durham bi-election has been supporting Libs of TikTok and anti-2SLGBTQ+ conspiracy theories before they were even popular amongst the Canadian right wing.

The absolute best thing about yesterday was hearing about towns and cities where they were outnumbered on 9/20, but still had the courage to showed up again a month later and handed the bigots a massive L.

Grande Prairie's 2SLGBTQIA+ defence wasn't outnumbered this time! We had a dance party - & a lot of beautiful moments of unexpected support. A woman stopped at the light & handed us all flags out her window. A Mom stopped to introduce her trans child & thank us.🏳️⚧️ @1mv4inclusion
Today, WE WON. Well done to everyone who showed up today at City Hall.
#hamont , let's continue to show up in support of children's rights and trans communities.

At the last round of anti-2SLGBTQ+ protests on September 20th, many members and allies of the 2SLGBTQ+ community found themselves outnumbered in suburbs and smaller cities. Despite threats and slurs, they are determined to stand up against hate again. antihate.ca/outnumbered_coun…

🚨"Where is Minister of Education on this? Real kids lives are at risk! He needs to come out and be VERY clear on this point!" Opposition Leader @MaritStiles calls on @Sflecce to denounce hate-fuelled bomb threats to Hamilton schools #HamOnt #onpoli

BOMB THREATS: The one arrest made was for *one* call, and was not for the multiple emailed threats with vitriolic hate.
The other threats are still being investigated.
Hate hurts all of us, including the ones that perpetuate it.

Helloooo??? @Sflecce @fordnation you OK with hate-fuelled bomb threats? Four days in a row? Or do the people in our schools not matter to you? Or does Hamilton not matter to you? Or do you not care about hate? Or too busy bragging in QP?? WHERE ARE YOU??? #oned #onpoli #cdnpoli
There have been bomb threats towards @HWDSB schools every day for the last 4 days, filled with anti-trans hate.
Hate puts ALL students at risk.
