Few more observations on working with AI-enabled team: 1. One of the things that separates junior devs from senior is the ability to notice that a design is going wrong and trying another direction early. Juniors will push in a hopeless direction for way too long. AI makes it worse. Juniors feel like AI validated the approach, avoid talking to others (most hate it) and push in the weird direction for too long. 2. When it comes to code produced by seniors, reviewing code is rarely useful. Reviewing the intent of PRs and whether I agree with the intent is important. Are we fixing the correct problem? in the correct part of the code? In a way that is friendly to users, operators, the company? 3. Work now feels... lonely. Code reviews (and sometimes even design) are mostly comments from AI, fixed by AI. Engineers always saw any conversation as waste of time, when they could just produce more code. Now they can produce even more code, and it seems like a conversation with me adds less value than talking with AI, and perhaps even less pleasant. It isn't about being social at work. They are happy to talk about movies, news, etc. But I find conversations with engineers about engineering topics to be energizing, inspiring and motivating. And while I understand it isn't the job of my team to energize and inspire me, I deeply miss the interactions we used to have.

If you only listen to pundits on national news, you'd believe the Rio Grande River was simply the backdrop of the fiercely argued immigration debate. For Texans, it is so much more than that. It's the lifeblood for agriculture. It's the source of drinking water for rapidly growing cities. It's the livelihood for tour guides. It is a delicate ecosystem for wildlife all along its length. @jherrerx explored its full length from the headwaters in Colorado all the way to its mouth near Boca Chica in this wonderful special for @TexasMonthly. youtube.com/watch?v=PBaMGnxt…

The bigger story is that the richest man in the world helped the Paxton campaign spread a completely made up story about his opponent and no one will face any consequences
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times — but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days. Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner. With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time. Trying to incorporate a daily walk with no podcast or phone on me. A little bit of daily prayer and just letting my mind wander. I've also been trying to read a chapter or 2 a day. I started reading The Idiot by Dostoevsky
