Canada’s top security officials say Jewish Canadians face unprecedented threats, with radicalization moving at a pace not seen since 9/11.
Officials from CSIS, the RCMP and Public Safety Canada tell The Globe and Mail the threats are unparalleled in both severity and number. 🧵👇 (1/7)
Jewish people are grateful for allies like Van who shine a light into the dark abyss of Jew hatred wearing the cloak of “antizionism” which many so called progressives find themselves swimming in while wholeheartedly believing they are on the side of justice.
I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

On the same day you can have a massacre of 300 people in Sudan and the IDF shooting one gunman in Jenin. The Israeli shooting will be the headline in every major news site on the world, the Sudan massacre will only be reported in obscure telegram groups. Why is that?
Brutal new reality in British media.
The BBC has agreed to pay £400,000 to an award-winning Jewish documentary-maker who alleged she was subjected to antisemitism and pushed out of the corporation after October 7.
Lucie Kon, 57, spent 22 years at the BBC and worked on programmes including Panorama, Today, BBC Breakfast and Storyville. Films she commissioned or helped produce won an Oscar, Emmy and Bafta.
Kon says her treatment changed dramatically after the Hamas attacks. She alleges colleagues described Zionists like her as “evil”, argued that Israel should be called terrorist if Hamas was, and told her to consider what had driven Hamas to carry out the massacre.
When she proposed a documentary about October 7, Kon says she was told she was “too partial” to oversee it because she was Jewish.
She subsequently filed a formal grievance, but a BBC investigation rejected her complaint. Kon says she was then kept away from work for months. During a restructuring, her position was made redundant and she failed to secure the similar role replacing it.
She launched unfair-dismissal proceedings.
The BBC has now agreed substantial compensation, reported as £400,000, without admitting liability or accepting that Kon suffered antisemitism.
Kon says Jewish employees still at the corporation continue to face hostility and feel unable to identify openly as Jewish or Zionist.
Moves like this lead to distrust of media.
CBC deliberately inverted the story
They opened with: “Israel has closed off the West Bank after Israeli soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians near Hebron.”
The actual sequence—that two armed men from Hebron drove up, got out of the car, and opened fire on the checkpoint, triggering a 20-minute gun battle in which the attackers were killed—was buried nearly two and a half minutes in. Only then did viewers learn about the large quantity of weapons and ammunition, Israeli officials saying the pair were planning a major attack on civilians, and Hamas praising the “high-impact operation” while calling for more violence.
BBC, CNN, The Washington Post, and The Times of Israel all led with the attack itself. CBC chose not to.
This is not neutral sequencing. Leading with the Israeli response while delaying the fact that the dead men initiated a terrorist attack is a classic framing choice that makes the aggressors look like victims—days before Israel’s election @brodiefenlon

Case No. 450/26
Today, on behalf of Masar Jadid, I filed a legal challenge before the Palestinian Administrative Court against the presidential decree cancelling the legislative elections scheduled for November 28, 2026, and postponing them until September 11, 2027.
We are asking the Court to annul the decision, restore the original election date and/or bring the new date forward to the earliest possible opportunity.
We trust the Palestinian judiciary and its independence to uphold the law and protect the rights to vote and stand for election.
After twenty years without legislative elections, Palestinians deserve the opportunity to choose their representatives. Our young generation must have a peaceful, democratic path to shape its future.
We will continue defending that right through every lawful means available.
Case No. 450/26.

Overnight, the Russians used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against our energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure – the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President. The strike was entirely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale – Russia has never before shown such ostentatious disrespect toward the United States. Russia does not consider the American President’s statements strong. Unfortunately, at least 600,000 people are now without power. Outages could become even more widespread. Unfortunately, there is significant damage to facilities and equipment – at 26 facilities of our power system and four facilities in the oil and gas sector. I am grateful to the repair crews, all Ukrainian energy workers, and the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for all their efforts to address the aftermath of this Russian strike. Tragically, there have been fatalities and injuries.
We ask America and EVERYONE in the world who does not turn a blind eye to reality to respond – and to respond forcefully. Russia has squandered the opportunity for de-escalation and has clearly chosen to continue its insane war of annihilation. We ask President Trump to impose STRONG sanctions on Russia, especially since the Lindsey Graham bill, which was recently passed and signed into law, authorizes and regulates such measures. The American President has all the effective and necessary tools to bring peace closer through strength, justice, and pressure on the aggressor. We ask for additional packages of Patriot missile interceptors for Ukraine. It is entirely fair for us to tell the United States, Europe, and all our partners that no country in the world should be left alone to face such a deranged and pro-war actor as Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine! Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this principle of Reagan’s. Glory to Ukraine!

Never forget: a senior U.N. official who was on the ground in Israel in the aftermath of October 7th revealed how the strategy of international organizations was to decide in advance on the crime for which they would accuse Israel. “I was there, and I was absolutely stunned.” 🧵

A Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Once again, no early warning from our partners. The main target was energy infrastructure, specifically CHPP-4. Unfortunately, it was hit. A residential building was also damaged, and rescuers are currently putting out a fire there. Our systems detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kyiv. CHPP-4 is one of Kyiv’s key energy facilities.
According to our intelligence, the Russians are preparing further ballistic missile launches. The facts show that the Russians do not consider themselves bound by what the President of the United States said. Ukraine supported an energy ceasefire. Russia is targeting yet another power plant and the lives of our people.
And this is absolutely unjust: when they are destroying our energy infrastructure, and Ukraine is not even receiving early warnings about ballistic missile launches. It is important that the world does not stay silent about this. And it is important that the United States really see what is happening and who is responsible for this war continuing.
Please stay safe tonight and tomorrow. We are working to replenish our air defenses with anti-ballistic missiles.

Hamas terrorists have released Palestinian activist Eyad Jundya Abu Hammam after torturing him so severely that they broke his jaw and leg.
This is what Hamas does to Palestinians in Gaza who dare to speak out against them.
Eyad was kidnapped by Hamas militias and subjected to horrific torture for over a week. He now needs immediate medical treatment.
Over the past three years, Hamas has tortured and murdered Palestinians and shot others in the legs for opposing them. Yet many of the loudest voices in the so-called pro-Palestine movement have remained silent about these horrific attacks on activists in Gaza.

On this third anniversary, we remember the unspeakable mass atrocities of October 7-the worst day in Jewish history since the Holocaust-horrors too terrible to be believed, but not too terrible to have happened-perpetrated by the antisemitic terrorist statelet Hamas. 9 Canadians were murdered that day, including my friend Vivian Silver-a leader of Women Wage Peace.
Tragically, and almost unbelievably, on October 8 began the denial that these atrocities took place; or support for them; or justification for them; or even celebration of them in the public square.
It also triggered an unprecedented global explosion of antisemitism, warranting our necessary action Let there be no mistake about it, as I’ve said for many years now, antisemitism is toxic to democracy, a standing threat to our security and an assault on our common humanity.
No glory in martyrdom. These vigils shouldn’t be happening in Canada

The judiciary system in Iran has confirmed 74 lashes for Parastoo Ahmadi for the “crime” of singing.
She sang without compulsory hijab. She hurt no one. She simply used her voice.
Now she faces 74 lashes, a two-year travel ban, and a two-year ban from audiovisual activities.
This should not be only an Iranian women’s issue. Every singer, every artist, every woman, every man who believes in basic human dignity should stand with Parastoo.
Say her name. Share her story. Use your platform. 74 lashes for singing should outrage all of us.
Parastoo said:
“I am Parastoo, a girl who cannot stay silent and refuses to stop singing for the people she loves. This is my right, one I will never surrender. I sing for this land I adore, for the soil of my homeland. Here, in this sacred corner of our beloved Iran, listen to my voice in this imagined concert, and dream of a free and beautiful nation.”
She makes a point!
Mayor Mamdani, you said war criminals who set foot in New York should be arrested.
Good news. One is in New York city this week.
The president of the Islamic Republic is coming to the United Nations, right here in New York.
He heads the regime that massacre innocent protesters. They gunned down unarmed protesters in the streets, hanged our children, and sent its agents to Brooklyn to kidnap and kill a New Yorker.
That New Yorker is me. The FBI files and federal indictments are public. Look them up.
If you have the courage to talk about arresting those responsible for crimes against humanity, start with the man sleeping five miles from your office.
Are you willing to act, Mayor? Or do Iranian lives not count?
Sums it up
Belleville, Ontario.
A Jewish community has prayed there since 1905. One hundred and twenty years of building, contributing, belonging. This week, someone opened fire on their synagogue.
It is not isolated. Toronto bakeries shot at. A Montreal restaurant burned on Shabbat. A Saskatoon synagogue pelted during prayer, children at the window. A man with a knife at the Israel pavilion in Edmonton.
For eighty years this country held a consensus forged in the ashes of the Holocaust: that antisemitism is intolerable, that violent extremism is confronted, that we do not underwrite those who preach the murder of Jews.
That consensus is being dismantled.
This week, Prime Minister @MarkJCarney pledged another $100 million, including funds to train Palestinian Authority police. The same Authority that held no elections, undertaken no reform, and still pays pensions for murdering Jews. Not one condition this government set has been met.
A government that trafficks in terror funding abroad cannot claim to be fighting it at home. And a government that perpetually fails to fight it at home is not merely neglecting Jewish Canadians. It is continuing to act against them, and the rule of law every Canadian deserves.
The risk of surgical and hormonal interventions not solving the problem, or creating new ones, is only now starting to be understood.
A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.
How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?
Brutal
My heart breaks for the Jewish community as they observe Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, under the shadow of grief and terror. No community, anywhere, should be targeted during prayer or for their faith. May the victim's memory be a blessing.
