After forty years in front of the camera, I’ll be directing my first feature film, SO HELP ME GOD: a Civil War epic about a Union soldier named Albert Townsend, who should have received the Medal of Honor but didn’t.
Clerical error.
I learned of Albert through his descendants’ archival research. What I found was more than an injustice waiting to be corrected. It was a story of friendship and extraordinary courage: an unassuming young man becoming a soldier who held his ground, and his principles, under fire.
That’s a story worth telling on the largest possible scale. And we’re inviting the people who want to see it told to help bring it to the screen, as investors in the film through Republic.
We intend to do it justice: real cannons, one hundred horses, and the cast in period-accurate uniforms. We’ve brought on Mark Huffam, whose work includes Saving Private Ryan, Game of Thrones, and The Martian, to produce it. He knows what it takes to make an epic, and how much depends on the human story at its heart.
At the Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I introduced the project alongside Civil War historian Brad Quinlin, members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and representatives of Civil War Roundtables. We’re also supporting the campaign for Albert’s posthumous Medal of Honor. His descendants are still fighting to see his courage properly recognized.
This picture is about friendship, love, and honor — and common people rising to accomplish extraordinary things. I want to give that story everything it deserves.

All of our “minnesota gets out to vote!” Marketing is statistically impossible.

Even using loose numbers we are now looking like a banana republic with 99% voting rate.
I haven’t analyzed the 2024 elections yet but I’m sure it’s similar to Minneapolis 2025 - which I analyzed in depth. For example, there were more voters in Ward 12 than adult residents. So either children were voting or…
But god forbid I mention it. I’m sure Zaynab will just say I have “sour grapes”.
In Minneapolis Ward 2 last year there were precincts which had 98% of votes cast as same day registration- the whole precinct.
When I looked at Ward 10, there were similar discrepancies. Yet when I sought the “vouchers” or names of the organizations (like old folks homes) where they did massive ballot drop offs- I was told that was “private data”. I wasn’t allowed to see the signed affidavit where someone “vouched” for the eight friends.
Ward 6 had precincts with 80% mail in. 80%!
THEN… I was told (as a candidate mind you, not even a ‘regular citizen’) that I could request a recount at my own expense- about $30k but I wouldn’t be allowed an audit. I didn’t need a recount. I believed the numbers they put forth in that regard. Recounts are dumb in that scenario and a massive smoke screen.
Also it made it seem as though o was blaming poll working volunteers. Not in the slightest.
Ironically, I ran on “audit everything” for the city and announced that in April of 2025 and look at how much MORE fraud we’ve found since then….
Do you think Julie Blaha would call for an audit?
