BREAKING: NAILED IT! Fearless journalist Mehdi Hasan savages JD Vance for being a shameless racist despite having an Indian family. This is a knockout punch... "JD Vance's in-laws' names are Radhakrishna Chilukuri and Lakshmi Chilukuri. I wonder if he tells them this stuff, too. To their faces," Hasan wrote on X, responding to a vile Vance campaign rally clip. "Or does he just save it for white MAGA rallies? Truly a racist pathetic embarrassment of a son-in-law to his brown Indian immigrant in-laws," he added. The clip in question showed Vance engaging in the kind of lowest common denominator, xenophobic, gleefully ignorant rhetoric that has defined the Republican Party's messaging this entire election cycle. They know that they can't fix gas prices or improve affordability because of Trump's interminable, disastrous Iran War, so they're mashing the big racist button as hard as they can. "A very distinctive memory I have of right after 9/11, I was a young man in high school," said Vance. "I remember that sense of pride, you remember that? That all of us had, Democrat, Republican, and Independent in our country. And I remember driving to a local gas station to wait hours in line for gasoline... "That was now, of course, more expensive because of a region of the world made up of countries of names that I couldn't even pronounce," he said. The joke there, folks, is that Arabic names are alien sounding and impossible to pronounce for a simple country boy like James David Vance. Who exactly finds this kind of provincial, bigoted material appealing? The infuriating irony, of course, is that while Vance can't "pronounce" Arabic names, he has absolutely no problem dropping bombs on Arabs in Gaza. This is the deal with the MAGA Devil that Vance has made. He wants to be the leader of a party that is now unashamedly white nationalist, but his entire family is Indian-American. His wife's name used to be Usha Chilukuri. One of his sons is named Vivek. Vance is so power-hungry that he is actively creating a world that is more hostile to his own flesh and blood. He's a disgusting, spineless creature who can never be permitted to inhabit the White House. Please like and share if you think that Vance is a disgrace!

This thread is not any judgement on the merits or not of the journalist nominated. This is not about him. It’s about an industry-wide inability to hold itself to the same account it demands of all others.

Please watch and share Those advocating for Palestine continue to be silenced
I worked in the NHS for 14 years. Now doctors like me who speak about Gaza are being reported to the GMC, written up in the press, and left fighting for our careers. This is my experience, and why I won't be silenced. The good guy/bad guy routine with @andyburnham seems to be working on an awful lot of people. Today's freedom of movement with Europe talk has got people boosting their Burnham-hype levels again. I keep saying it, but it's all political theatre. Don't forget, just days ago, @UKLabour signed off on Jackdaw, just months after the UK's hottest summer on record. And they've also backed the antisemitism in schools report, which reads like a comprehensive guide to conditioning our children into thinking it's racist to oppose a genocide. It's farcical how quickly so many people seem willing to move on. And notice the timescales. When will Jackdaw start producing gas? The project is being pushed towards production within just a few months. When will schools be asked to implement these measures that sanitise Israel's actions under the guise of tackling antisemitism? As soon as possible please, with a wider rollout planned for 2027/28. But are we setting a date for an EU referendum? Erm, no. Are we even committing to restoring freedom of movement? Nope. We're seem perfectly content in praising politicians for things that haven't even happened, while seemingly forgetting the damage they're doing right in front of us. And that's precisely how this political theatre works. Keep people invested in the promise of change, while the government carries on protecting the very status quo we're supposedly desperate to change.

Today Israeli authorities barred me and other European elected representatives from entering the West Bank to meet Palestinian students and civil society leaders, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation. We knew that by crossing into the occupied Palestinian territories, we risked being detained, interrogated and turned away by Israeli authorities. And that, alas, is exactly what happened. For more than eight hours, we were held, interrogated and made to feel as though we had done something wrong simply by attempting to enter. The simple truth is we had done nothing wrong. We went to show our support for the Palestinian people and highlight the terrible injustice and violence being perpetrated against them. We want to ensure that people back home do not look away from the reality of what is happening. Ultimately, we went to show solidarity. But we left with an even greater determination to speak out. We will not be silenced, and we will not look away. None of us should.

This is Labour Politician Lord Tom Watson being paid to be a salesman for Palantir, a highly controversial tech company that has Government contracts. This is a sign of a democracy in decline.
Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.

🚨 The @BoardofDeputies has declared @TheGreenParty a racist, antisemitic party for its opposition to Zionism. We need to unpick just how deeply hypocritical this position is, and the extraordinary double standards at its heart. The Board fiercely defends Zionism and the Jewish right to national self-determination, while in 2025 actively opposed Britain's recognition of Palestine as a state. It acknowledges the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, but largely frames it as just that: a humanitarian catastrophe. It hasn't recognised Israel's actions as genocide or unequivocally condemned the Israeli government's overall conduct in Gaza. So here's the fundamental contradiction... Zionism isn't simply an abstract religious belief in Jewish self-determination. It's a political ideology whose founding objective was to establish a Jewish homeland IN PALESTINE. A land already inhabited by another people, whose slaughter, dispossession, displacement and denial of fundamental rights cannot simply be erased from the conversation. And yet, that's EXACTLY what's happening. Those speaking up for Palestine often say you can't present a genocide as a debate between two equally legitimate sides. But we're not even getting that far. When Jewish self-determination is fiercely defended, while Palestinian statehood is opposed, and the human suffering is discussed without confronting the political responsibility for it, Palestinians themselves are being erased from the very conversation about their future. What does it say about our understanding of racism when the rights and humanity of an entire people can be treated as secondary, or even not at all? The most damning question of all is what this says about our own @UKLabour government. Because whether through fear of being branded antisemitic, political self-preservation, or a calculated move to mask its own complicity in the atrocities being committed, this is a position our government continues to accommodate, defend, and aplify. Rather than unequivocally standing up for Palestinians being killed by the IDF, it continues to embolden its political relationship with the Israeli state. We've reached a point where challenging an inherently racist and dangerous political ideology is treated as more outrageous than the mass killing, dispossession and destruction being carried out in its name. Antisemitism is racism. It must be confronted wherever it exists. But opposition to Zionism is not antisemitic, it's morally and lawfully correct. And no political ideology, state or government should EVER be granted immunity from scrutiny, particularly when the consequences are measured in human lives. @andyburnham @ZackPolanski @jeremycorbyn @corbyn_project #GazaGenocide‌ #FreePalestine

The govt (Lucy Powell) is talking about Holocaust Education in schools. I've written four books for children/young people on this and made a video with photos, maps and documents. I'll be interested to see if the official Holocaust Education bodies carry on ignoring these.

SEE BELOW this mass slaughter of children was NOT self-defence, was it? NOT “collateral damage”, was it? It is GENOCIDE The GENOCIDE continues today The GENOCIDE is supported & enabled by the British elites in politics and the media These elites are profoundly RACIST
On this day in 2023, the Israeli army killed approximately 300 Palestinian children in a single day through separate attacks across the Gaza Strip during the genocide.

The British politico-media elites are RACIST They do not care about Palestinian children They do care about European, Americans and Israeli children They are RACIST - and CRUEL
