Popularity invites discussion and debate (and views) And also this is the internet. We're surrounded by people who think like we do.

You can do some bonkers shit like grab a blue-white shock with a black white fetch. Bc a lot of lands say "swamp" but tap for colors besides black For more corner cases, being able to shuffle on demand is useful. Scry 5 and all 5 suck? Crack a fetch and try again!

At least one player MUST take notes That way its not only on the gm to have remembered or written down everything

These also tend to have a personal story for YOUR pov character separate from the personal quests of your companions.

The rise of video games. To find a dnd player under 40 who never played video games is rare and rpg video games have main quest lines that you're supposed to be able to find and follow

I agree with you but the matt mercer effect genie is out of the bottle. If your players are demanding and keep wanting from you something that is impossible for a normal person to deliver, get new players

As someone currently tinkering with writing a 5e srd cyberpunk game, I have to agree since I'm already throwing out *large* amounts of 5e and I haven't even officially started

Eh. I always knew backwards compatibility was something they'd fuck up. This is dnd. I accept I'm going to have to houserule this game to hell to get it how I want it just like I accept a Bethesda game is at its best after the modders get their hands on it

Personally what I do is I make a 3rd level character of the appropriate class and then just add stuff until it feels correct. And I'm not shy about creating "multiclasses" if it feels correct

The batman I grew up with is the one who tries to talk Harley Quinn out of staying with the joker, and the one who nearly died trying to save Mr. Freeze, and the one who mentors Terry McGinnis into being something more than an angry punk THAT batman is not a fascist

Whenever my old group killed something cool or unusual they immediately turned into monster hunter players and asked what they can make from it lol
