⚡ 100,000 km in an EV: ₹7.19 Lakh Saved, 10 Tonnes CO₂ Offset & 476 Trees Planted In February 2021, I made a conscious decision to switch to electric mobility and brought home the Tata Nexon EV Prime XZ+. Back then, Faridabad had no public chargers, and range anxiety was very real. But I believed in the future. It was time to walk the talk. Fast forward to July 2025: ✅ 100,000 km driven ✅ ₹89,500 total charging cost ✅ ₹85,000 total service cost (including wire harness repair) ✅ 7,700 litres of petrol saved ✅ 10,000 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided ✅ 476 trees worth of carbon offset ✅ ₹7.19 lakh saved in fuel alone 🔋 Technical Summary Vehicle Tata : Nexon EV Prime XZ+ Battery Capacity : 30kWh Avg. Consumption : 112Wh/km = 0.112 kWh/km Total Distance : 100,000km Total Energy Used : 100,000 × 0.112 = 11,200kWh Charging Cost : ₹89,500 → ₹0.895/km Service Cost : ₹85,000 (total including one major cost wire harness replacement) ⚙️ Charging Split Home Charging (BRIGHTBLU AC Type 2 Charger) : 82% = 9,184 kWh Public DC Charging (ABB) : 18% = 2,016 kWh 💡 All ABB DC chargers used were installed during my tenure as Country Business Head, ABB eMobility India. 💡I use the AC only when driving with family, not just to extend range, but to reduce overall energy consumption and minimize environmental impact with every kilometer 🌱 Environmental Impact ICE Car CO₂/km : 180g/km = 18,000 kg for 100,000 km EV CO₂/km (India grid avg. 24% RE) : 80g/km = 8,000 kg ✅ Net CO₂ Saved : 10,000 kg (10 tonnes) 🌳 Tree Equivalent : 10,000 ÷ 21 = ~476 trees planted⛽ Petrol Avoided : 7.7L/100 km → 7,700 litres saved💸 Fuel Cost Saved : ₹105/L → ₹8,08,500 – ₹89,500 = ₹7,19,000 saved 💡 What Enabled This? ✅ Willpower & Determination to make a change ✅ Smart home charging – 82% of energy drawn at home on BRIGHTBLU AC chargers, ensuring reliability and safety. ✅ Fast reliable public DC charging – ABB DC fast chargers, deployed by me, empowered intercity/intracity drives with confidence. ✅ Sustainable grid – Gurugram’s grid is now powered by 28–30% renewable energy, higher than India’s 24% national average. Every Dussehra, we watch Ravana burn. This year, I find myself thinking about the beliefs we allow to survive. The casual sexist joke we laugh at. The daughter asked to compromise before the son. The woman whose clothes are questioned before someone else’s behaviour. The control we excuse as concern. These are things we can challenge in our own homes, friendships and workplaces and in ourselves. For me, celebrating the victory of good over evil also means listening, sharing responsibility, respecting consent and standing up for someone whose voice is being dismissed. One truck. One CCS2 port. Approximately 236 kW. The Planet3 Energy AVION 240 charged a Volvo FM Electric from 18% to 100% SoC, transferring 319.10 kWh in approximately 94 minutes. For fleet operators, the power available through a single connector matters as much as the cabinet’s nameplate rating. A 240 kW charger configured with fixed 2 × 120 kW power paths limits each outlet to 120 kW. Separately, a 250 A cable can constrain single-vehicle power as battery voltage changes. These are distinct limitations and both deserve attention when selecting truck-charging infrastructure. The AVION 240 configuration featured here offers: ⚡ Up to 240 kW to one vehicle through one port ⚡ 375 A nominal / continuous and 500 A peak capability per gun ⚡ 200–1000 V DC output ⚡ Dynamic output aligned with vehicle demand The charging curve shows why this matters. Current remained close to 330 A as battery voltage increased, taking output from approximately 209 kW to 236 kW. Later, current and power reduced, recovered after brief dips, and tapered towards full charge. This is where responsive charging control matters. The vehicle’s BMS adjusts its charging request according to SoC, cell voltage, battery temperature and other operating limits. Thermal management can also influence demand. The charger’s role: ramp up when requested, ramp down when required, and follow the vehicle through recovery and final taper. High-current capability and responsive control work together to support the demands of heavy-duty electric mobility. Watch the full charging journey in the video. Sinners what an experience ! One of the most unique films I’ve watched in a long time. Sinners manages to be dark, thrilling, emotional, philosophical and incredibly entertaining all at once. What really sets the film apart is its music. It isn’t merely a background score; music feels like another character in the story. Haunting, soulful and unbelievably captivating, it gives the film an identity of its own. “I Lied to You,” “Rocky road to Dublin” are particular standouts for me. The entire musical experience is genuinely something that doesn’t come around very often. Beneath all the entertainment, though, I found Sinners surprisingly thought-provoking. There is a beautiful underlying message about courage, strength and hope, but also about society’s fears and taboos surrounding music, freedom and self-expression. On another, more philosophical level, the film explores something even darker: how the things we desire can sometimes open doors we never intended to open. You can have the plan. You can have the ambition. You can even have the money and resources. And yet, some things remain completely beyond your control. Sometimes one wrong decision is enough. One seemingly small choice can overturn the best-laid plans and begin an uncontrolled chain of events whose consequences become impossible to contain. That’s perhaps what stayed with me most after the movie the uncomfortable thought that evil doesn’t always announce itself as evil. Sometimes it arrives disguised as an opportunity, a temptation, or exactly what you thought you wanted. And through all of this, Sinners never forgets to entertain. It has atmosphere, tension, emotion, energy and a soundtrack that stays with you long after the credits roll. A unique story. Superb entertainment quotient. Extraordinary music. And underneath it all, a surprisingly philosophical film about temptation, choices, consequences, courage and hope. Power follows demand. At every configured power setting. Whether AVION 120 is set to 120 kW, 110 kW or 105 kW, Full Dynamic Load Balancing remains in play. Four modules dynamically serve two EVs in whole-module increments—25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of configured capacity to either connector, according to demand.
