That's a great question! I can tell you this, as a lifelong Republican, I actually voted for @GinaHinojosaTX for Governor. Abbott's destruction of public education was evident, and for me the final straw was the awful voucher scam he pushed off as "school choice"!

Ted, this is the longest accidental confession I’ve ever read. You admit that tariffs, the Iran war, and grocery prices helped drive voters away. You even list corruption among their concerns. Then you call the Democrats they elected “communists and Islamists” and warn that congressional oversight is persecution.
You describe Americans selling plasma to pay the bills, then fret about Elon Musk being investigated. Working families are trying to put food on the table, and you’re worried one of the richest men alive might have to answer questions. Texas elected a Democratic governor and senator. I don’t know how many people noticed, but every single thing that Warnock mentioned about the Deep South during this cycle happened. He was one of the only people who clearly saw such a dramatic shift happening. They actually laughed when he said this.

Sure seems like Trump is dissociating. Call it sundowning if you like, but he's become detached and stoic.
His "nothing matters" philosophy has sublimated into long discussions of plumbing and premium marble — retreating into the building trade because it is the one thing he always believed he was good at, and which no one is trying to take away from him now.
A pathetic old man who reminds us "he's still our president," but we've all simply moved on out of disgust and boredom. The show is no longer worth watching and even the writers have lost interest.

IF @GinaHinojosaTX is even remotely sincere about what she just said in this clip, and I pray she is, then Texas didn’t just elect another loony progressive, woke radical Democrat as Governor…
Texas elected an intelligent, self-declared “economic populist” who values economic growth, recognizes the fundamental difference between culture war and class war, REJECTS woke, is ANTI big tech oligarchy, ANTI data center, and ANTI surveillance state.
If I’m being brutally honest, she sounds far more sane and reasonable than ANYONE I have heard on the GOP side. Listening to this, it’s not hard to imagine why Greg Abbott as badly as he did.
I’m not saying we will agree on everything, or even that she is legit, but IF she is this could possibly be an overall net positive for Texas.
