I just went to vote in Westchester & machines are apparently broken county wide. They said choice is vote absentee or come back later. This is going to be crazy. Our country is in trouble.

If you’re wondering why Democrats are responding to what Haley Stevens did with a sense of betrayal it’s because it was quite literally betrayal. She told a number of her close friends and colleagues and staff that she’d be at church with Jim Clyburn - they were waiting for her there! And as for the notion that she’s choosing the candidate that isn’t promoting hate how can she justify that when just in the last few days Abdul has been called Muslim Brotherhood, a jihadist, and even a jihadist leprechaun. Sounds like a campaign of hate to me.

The only thing I'd say about Haley Stevens, who I knew pretty well in Congress, is that her actions have been neither principled nor opportunistic, just strange. I'd look more to experts in psychology than politics to explain them. But there are more important issues here. 1/

I hope folks will think about the fact that @HaleyforMI demanded that @AbdulElSayed denounce as antisemitic an ad he was not associated with, but is now endorsing a man who called Abdul a terrorist. She is fine with bigotry and racism as long as its against the right people.
