Okay, I found another set of words in a different notebook. Surrendering or Servitude Ownership (unchanged, since day one of thought capture) Leadership or Liberty Action or Antifragile Responsibility The SOLAR acronym is going to stay. I just need to finalize the core words.

Same story. Also I was a perma-temp, which made everyone look at me like some kind of leper. Now it’s common for folks to be long-term contractors in advertising. Starting my own one-man shop was also a huge leg up. Learning what drives client decision kept me sharp.

I got my first agency job literally because they were starting their first social team back when nobody knew anything about it yet. There were no qualifications they could check, no requirements list existed, it all wasn’t invented yet. Good times.

The reason why we may be worried that robots will take our jobs is because we’ve made our jobs more robotic Our jobs have become about dashboard. About optimization. About logic. About repetitiveness. About rational predictable improvements. These are by far and away tasks that are better accomplish accomplished by a robot It’s not that we should be more human to safeguard our jobs, it’s that we should be more human because it’s the best way to better marketing. We have to double down on what makes us special. It’s about judgment. It’s about empathy. It’s about instinct. it’s about magic , it’s about what’s irrational it’s about what’s unexpected. It’s about being different. There is absolutely nothing in life that matters that can have a ROI attached, everything that we value has soul, so the future of marketing, and people in it, it’s not to ignore the maths, it’s not to ignore the data, but it’s to love the maths, and the data are enough to know when it doesn’t matter, and then win fights based on being able to persuade us to do the stuff that transcends everyday, predictable , tried and tested. If I see one more person talking about Marketing being 1000 AB test, I’m going to scream . Marketing is about knowing the best thing to do first time

All it took was physical visitation. Shout-out to the on-site admissions hookup at Cass Tech. Ann Arbor had and has an energy that was not right for me. East Lansing, at the time, did not offend. End of story.

I love how the Columbus-Detroit connection continues to blossom. This Living for the City documentary is such beautiful material. I love that it's done by a Columbus cat. Shout out to my C'bus folks!

#TWEETEA + #TEDxDetroit + #StartupWeekendDetroit + #MovieUp... etc It's hard to leave a place that has been so impactful. I still am making solid connections with real people through this thing. 🤷🏾‍♂️
I’ve now had Twitter mutual 1:1 and small group coffee meetups with people on 4 different continents over the past ~15 years. Nothing else on the internet can match this place. It might be hell a lot of the time, but so so special.

Finished reading Flesh by David Szalay. What a refreshing piece of writing. A clear, interesting style. Very few words are wasted. Loved how nonjudgmental the writer was with his subject. I'll be reading another Szalay book soon.

Kudos to the marketing team for the buzz building on this app. This seems similar to @sonicaapp, but with a focus on the sales experience.
Starting today you can sell your projects on [untitled], make sure to update the app to try it out.

As a neuroscientist, here are 7 ways to trick your brain into doing difficult things: 1. Shrink the task to just two minutes. Your brain resists big commitments. So don't make one. - "Work out" → do one exercise. - "Clean the house" → pick up three items.

Just caught a take that noted rap is overstimulating. I've been checking Calicoe vs Rum Nitty while working on a presentation deck. Yeah, had to pause it and take some ashwagandha. Very good exchange of well-composed words with compelling performances though

This might explain why I fatigued so easily as a father figure to six too. And why I find every other genre of music so accessible. Years of high-quality raps just have done a number.

In conclusion, this is also why I appreciate the @EndelSound app. As much as I love music, I have to accept the deep-rooted connection I have to it. I just don't casually listen; somehow I embody it. I need sounds that I can experience that are aimed to help.

This is a metaphor one would use in a battle rap, by the way. When we're ready to pull Hickel's "emergency brake," feel free. My seatbelt is on securely.
OpenAI is taking on a lease for 90,000 sq feet at the Puck Building in SoHo, where the now closing REI Store is. This is a metaphor.

I would say given the narrative on both of these two, this is incredibly ironic. Mook and Lux were being counted out for years, while quietly chalking solid performances again and again.
Mook and Lux are the only two battlers that I’ve seen regularly force their opponents to over complicate their approach. They’re probably the most intimidating draws in the sport when it comes to preparing for them.

Love this analysis. Couldn't frame it better. And both of these guys are favorites of mine. They are truly originals that need a reason to really show-and-prove, because they DID IT tons already.
Geechi and Clips have the same issue. Both peaked faster than anyone. Battled everyone and the goats early. Then got to a point where they just said fuck it I can do whatever lol. #SM15
