Could this be in anticipation for Slone becoming permanently up from PS?

Fingers crossed! I am not overly optimistic but being a serviceable level guy at his size could really help the O.

Same height & basically same weight / size overall. I like Downs but having your top 2 WRs at that size doesn't make sense to me.

I hope Thornton does, but have yet to see any sign of it yet unfortunately!

I like Downs, but he is too similar to Tucker. I think a bigger body guy is needed.

Buckner makes sense. Colts are not contenders & need to rebuild + he is 32.
Nelson less so, but he is also 30, needs to be re-signed & likely not contending next couple seasons when he will be on the decline. Assuming he even would want to stay.

That means activating Hemby full time also though, so would mean another player dropped regardless.
Biggest mistake Spy has made was taking Jeanty over Booker. Build in the trenches first.

Imagine giving those picks up and then having to Franchise Tag him, leaving him disgruntled because he wants to leave to go to a contending team. Its the type of risk a contender like Seahawks can make, not a rebuilding team. Colts could also have not wanted him in the AFC.
Replying to @R11R
Absolutely! Trenches are so damn important! But going after guys on the wrong side of 30, especially Buckner is not the right way. Nelson would have been a nice grab & didn't cost a lot, but with an expiring contact I would think he would have had some say where he wanted to go.

I think this year is about winning the games you should wij most importantly, which I think Jets should be one of those.
Replying to @TheSoloLopez @sonnysdazed
Franchise Tagging vets who want to leave & go to a contender is not the way you build a team.

Another East Coast trip. If this week isnt a win, I think the pressure to play Mendoza will grow significantly.
