Supporters of Serbia’s student movement held a huge final rally in central Belgrade before Sunday’s election, singing, chanting and holding up flares and flashlights. Many said they came to back the student protests and the student lists, calling for an end to a system they describe as corrupt. Some said they wanted a normal economy and education, and a country where their children could live better lives.

Free speech is a cornerstone of democracy and we should all use it as much as we protect it 💪
A rare moment of political courage in the British Parliament. British MP Nick Timothy tells Muslims crying “Islamophobia” to shove it: “Muhammad was a false prophet. Britain is not bound by Islam or Sharia.”

The lack of internet access on @LNRailway is disgusting. It should not take 20 blimming minutes to send two messages on WhatsApp! You really need to work on your connection quickly and without excuses or boilerplate responses. Just do it!

Striking how fast Reform went from free-press defenders to calling for the arrest of journalists who investigate it. Its move to the populist-authoritarian model is unlikely to do much for its poll rating.
STATEMENT: Reform UK has reported ITV, its board, and its undercover reporters to the police. Some of the crimes carry up to 10 years in prison. They forged a passport. They directly interfered in elections and almost certainly altered the results. Being paid to “canvass” for Reform in crucial wards we lost by a few dozen votes. They lied to a veteran about their service and left him “violated”. This is unprecedented. The police are now involved. Scrutiny of political parties is one thing. But anyone breaking the law to try and ruin the lives of Reform’s staff, members or volunteers will be reported to the police and pursued relentlessly in the courts. Here’s what happened 👇

If that's neo-Nazism (your phrase) @mehdirhasan, what is someone who says this about non-Muslims: They're "animals, plants, and inanimate objects" lacking moral agency, inferior and the non-Muslim world exhibits "arrogance and self-regard" while portraying Muslims as superior?
The president called an African country a ‘shit house’ on camera. I remember the old days - his first term! - when calling African countries ‘shit holes’ was a huge controversy that had to be denied. We have normalized his Neo-Nazism now. Lucky us.

Sometimes people need to remember journalists are here to do a job and that’s all - but that isn’t to say they’re here without accountability or criticism, we definitely are, but be fair and honest. Don’t always hate on the messenger.

And we are better for it, @CharlieSimpsonA. @GBPolitcs brings politics to those outside SW1 and serves more of a purpose than just news aggregation. Political education across the UK is sorely lacking and we shouldn’t nest down journalists for helping to tackle that - instead we should be encouraging. Journalism served us all wherever we are, condemn honesty and fact at your peril. xitter.cf/charliesimpsona/status…
It was my intention to leave journalism and politics forever at the start of October. I also intended to sell the GB Politics brand, but I cannot bring myself to do so because of my deep connection to it. I will therefore be staying on as director of GB Politics and will continue to make the organisation much stronger.
